Hot hot hot
These are the only stainless steel rods I've ever used so I'm sure this probably applies to all of them but my god do they run hot compared to mild steel rods. I just about got away with welding 1.5mm thick material with these but the rod starts to glow red and the work beings to discolour in no time.Very useful to have on hand all the same.

These work lovely as electrodes. Start easily and leave a lovely bead of stainless. They do show how terrible i am at welding but that's more my fault i suppose. Perhaps i should try baking instead.
