Why didn't I buy sooner
A great price of kit. Light but sturdy. 2 holes in the backplate for screwing it to the wall, or in my case, the side of the stairs.Both of my open face lids are happily hanging around. Just make sure you place the lid so the ball is central or the lids going to fall off.After riding in heavy rain, the inside of my lid was soaked, sitting it on a shelf it does dry out, but it took a lot less time sitting on this holder. A full day less.Being able to fold the holder against the wall when not in use is neat.I'm giving this 5 stars all aound

A quality product that works very well for its intended use.
I bought the 2 pack option to store my motorbike gear and my wife’s. Initially I thought the ball for the helmet was too small but it works very wellThe hook is strong enough to put a heavy duty hanger on which I put my heavy textile waterproof jacket & trousers & the same for my wife’s stuff.They even provide a separate hook on which you can hang your gloves & keys on.Good price too.

This design is far better than any others - you just need to be smart about it.
IF you were to copy this design exactly, the cost would surprise you. The hollow "BALL" is amazingly seamless (visually) and thin wall for weight with a welded nut attachment. That alone would cost a bunch of money and I suspect it is used generically elsewhere. The Ball is the LEAST DAMAGING to your helmet cushions and I actually tilt mine forward so it hits between the back neck cushion and the top of my head cushion, to do even less compression damage. It is a solid Rod with nice hinge and mounting base. It even has nice finish caps (metal) for the Screw heads which are threaded for the caps (see their picture), making them easily removable = easy to take down. You should already know NOT use this into Drywall as a jacket & helmet are beyond common sense for that weight - hit a stud!My only issue is the Screws should be longer to go through drywall and get into more meat of the stud. Minimum should be 1/8 bracket PLUS 1/2-5/8 drywall PLUS at least 1 inch stud meat = 1.75-2.00 long screw.

Well worth it
I bought these because I didn’t like my helmets laying on the floor. I installed these mounts they are great. Super easy to install. However, the screws that came with them to mount them are not that great. I snapped off 3. So i went to self tapper screws and they hold up really well. Well worth the money and 20 minutes it took to mount them.
