Don't waste your time, I wish I hadn't!
I'm not really sure where to start with this book. The story line was so bad I was open mouthed in amazement. I thought perhaps it was written 40 years ago, which would have made it a bit more credible. The hero is a well reknowned international media correspondent being blackmailed into making a woman fall in love with him. He gets blackmailed in person and has numerouse conversations with the blackmailer on the phone but as no time does he have the intelligence to record or film any of the conversations or even think to do an expose on the blackmailer who is an up and comming senator. This is probably because he can't get his mind off having sex with the heroine. In the last chapeter the heroine SWAPS NEGATIVES of the compromising photographs with the blackmailer. Can you even buy camera film anymore? Some reveiwers have said if you like Nora Roberts you will love this book. I couldn't disagree more, while I am not the NR expert that the writer obviously is, NR knows how to write a good romance story, this authors idea of romance is borderline soft porn, ok if you like that sort of thing, but personally I find it tediously boring.

Fabulous storytelling. I loved this book
Oh my goodness I loved this book. I'm a huge fan of Nora Roberts and have read almost all of her books including the JD Robb series. This book is an enormous and superbly written tribute to one of the world's best loved authors. Ava Miles has done a terrific job.I loved all the little references to some of Nora Roberts best loved leading men, yep I too have a soft touch for the dashing Bradley Vane, what's not to like about him! This book is very similar to in style to Noras work, disheartened women who falls for the super hot guy, falls in love but something happens to split them up, they get back together after some dramatic events and then there's the ubiquitous happy ending. All this sprinkled with intrigue, drama and suspicious deaths which adds up to a perfect read. For me Nora Roberts best books are her trilogies and I'm delighted that this series is heading the same way, as soon as I've posted this review I'm downloading the next novel as I can't wait to read all about jillie and her man.Ava Miles thank you for creating a super series and I'm sure there are many more people like myself who also believe in Nora Roberts Land. Long live the happy ending.

Disappointing
You know, I have to say I was really disappointed with this book. As a reader who really enjoys reading books by Nora Roberts, I was really looking forward to reading this book. But what a huge disappointment. I didn't get through too much of it and left it alone. It had a weak storyline and the person in the book (who was a great fan of Nora's books in this book) just kept asking herself 'What would Nora do?'. a book has to really grab me in the first few lines amor pages, and this one didn't do that. Maybe the book would have got better if I had stuck with it, but I doubt it.

Absolutely diabolical
Seriously, don't bother. This book is incredibly badly written. I haven't read more than a couple of Nora Roberts books so unsure if her very good reputation is deserved. If it is deserved however, why oh why did she allow Ava Miles to use her name for this drivel. The premise of the storyline is so pathetic I can only imagine the author wanted to trade on Nora Roberts' name in order to assure she'd get her own name into print. The only thing she has assured as far as I am concerned is that I will never read any of her other books - if she has been allowed to print anymore that is.

A Fabulous new author
Thoroughly enjoyable read, I am an avid Nora Robert's fan and thought I'd give this a go out of curiosity. I can honestly say hand on heart this book kept me wanting to read and read exactly like Nora has always done. Ava miles makes you want to keep coming back for more . I'm now onto number 3 and cannot wait to continue. The story itself is a believable authentic and heartfelt romantic suspense and will keep you on the edge of your seat...sleepless nights abound. The relationships not only of Meredith and Tanner but of the whole Hale family make you want to be part of the story and make everything seem a little brighter

Interesting
I liked the book it kept me company during a bout of Bronchitis. I thought 'Mermaid' was a bit wet I loved her sister. Tanner was an idiot he should have recorded his conversations and I went right off him (being a dog lover myself) when he calmly packed up his car and said goodbye to Hugo. The dog saved his life - what was it meant to do, go back to the house have breakfast and cuddle up on the sofa, or go back to starve the woods again!Personally I think if I was Nora Roberts and my name was being used I'd have had the book edited first, but I suppose it's advertising and you can't get enough of that.

Nearly Nora
I love Nora Roberts books so was drawn to this one because of the title. I liked the characters, especially Tanner and his background. Mere was a mixed up woman who had been almost destroyed by her ex husband's psychological attacks on her self esteem. Mere was comparing him to " Roark" and falling for him. I recognised the references to Nora's characters but other readers could have been a bit confused by them.

great
Being a very big Nora Roberts and J. D. ROBB fan this book popped up as a recommend, I put of reading it unsure as to if I would enjoy it. Well I am so happy I read it, it was great, the lead characters were engaging and likeable as were the supporting cast. It had some fun uses of Nora's books in! The romance and the suspense portion melded well. I love that it's a series of books and I'm off now to purchase the next.A very fun read!
