I have seen few moths in sons nursery and in living room how many of these traps would you advise?

One in each smaller room and two in the larger rooms. They do work very well. You need to get them going before it gets warm if poss. And replace every 3 months. Write the date on the back.

Will this attract carpet moths in the same way?

Carpet moths are the same as clothes moths. This product is totally useless. I have so many moths, sone flew by without any attraction to the product. Did not catch a single moth, and I bought 2 because of the reviews.

Does the moth stick to the trap?

Yes the male moths are attracted to the trap and get stuck.

Does this product catch the white-shouldered-house moth too? nothing else i've tried seems to reduce or repel them! #infested :(

It's excellent for catching the common male clothes moths. I don't know about the white shouldered house moth, to my knowledge we haven't suffered from those. The Zero In product though is very effective, the best I've tried. I've also used a moth bomb to try and eliminate any eggs and larvae.
