USB 3.0 Memory Stick - Will only work in USB 2.0 sockets!
NOTE: The following review applies to the 64Gb S75 USB 3.0 JumpDrive and not any other version (it appears - for reasons only known to Amazon - that ALL Lexar JumpDrives (P10 / P20 / S23 / S25 / S70 and S73 versions) ALL share the same review link - all 818 of them at the moment)!Great capacity at a great price - however there seems to be a problem with this item. Whether it is a design fault or simply a problem with this unit it is difficult to say.Item is a USB 3.0 memory stick - however when I insert it into either of the two USB 3.0 sockets on my Windows 7 desktop pc, the pc freezes completely. Nothing works - not even Ctrl-Alt-Delete to bring up the Task Manager. When the memory stick is withdrawn from the USB 3.0 socket, the pc is immediately responsive again. My desktop pc has several USB 2.0 sockets which work with this memory stick without a problem. The memory stick also works in other pcs that have USB 2.0 sockets. As the USB 3.0 sockets on my desktop pc work fine with other USB 3.0 devices, I can only conclude that the memory stick is faulty in some way - either just this stick or the design of the interface in general.Would like to try a second memory stick of the same capacity to confirm where the problem lies. As no-one else seems to have reported this problem, my initial conclusion is that it is specific to this single memory stick.Downside is that although the item was dispatched from and sold by Amazon themselves, there doesn't appear to be any way to contact Amazon to resolve the problem.Hope this helps,ArtUPDATE 1:Amazon have sent me a replacement JumpDrive but this exhibits exactly the same issue - it freezes the pc when plugged into a USB 3.0 socket but works fine when plugged into a USB 2 socket.I'm currently re-formatting the drive to see if it is a software conflict - the JumpDrive comes with some pre-installed encryption software (EncryptStick™ Lite softwar) and I'll update this review when I've tested the re-formatted drive.UPDATE 2:Sadly, reformatting the drive didn't fix the problem - so there is something amiss with the implementation of USB 3.0 on this memory stick as the USB 3.0 sockets on my pc are fine.so back to Amazon it goes ...Art

Fast, reliable and full capacity as described
Have three children all grown up, me and wife both doctor so there s a lot of data to be saved or carried around all the time, I have tried almost all the flash pen or jump drivessels but unfortunately it's the memory said on the drive has never been always few to 10 GB lesser, which is quite annoying as if I have 60 Gb of data to be saved and buy a 64 gb drive non has ever shown to be holding to the promise actually it does say "not enough memory "; tried all the big brands at prime prices like sandisk, samsung, sony or Toshiba also Kingston mutual the all have let me down, few months ago when I wen to local staples for some work related stuff this lexar 32gb drive was on deal with good atractive price, just bough one and tried same day for saving y work documents including presentations and was really impressed to se that it had full 32gb available and was fast enough for data transfer, bought few more for the children and now just last week bough a 128gb jump drive and on the info window it showed full 128gb available, I have huge collection of music on my walkman almost 80gb, it took under one hour to transfer all the music files safely, initially bough the s25 but the usb insurt was rather flimsy red the reviews for replacement with s75 which has steel usb inlet and rugged enough to survive the daily abuse, I must say I have not had any such good drive before. I am very pleased with this purchase and it's quite rasonably priced so worth a good purchase, fully recommend, buy with confidence, it come with secure data transfer software that help transfer quickly and safely, I am not trying any other brand for sure anymore as all the gadgets now need micro sd even the top camcorders work on micro sd so I am going to buy lexar micro sd as the other sandisk 128 gb has not been good enough, stops recording in between with warning not enough memory and I have missed out some very precious moments very annoying

Highly recommend the Lexar
I have bought different GB lexar USB pens. They are sturdy and slide into laptop/computers easily. They never let me down. With a vast colour range they are easy to find.I have bought other famous named USB pens which are more expensive but have broken because of their flimsy designs. I would always, without a doubt by Lexar. In my opinion they are the best!

Cheap and cheerful, slow but handy for back ups.
Let me start by saying I'm not a technical guy so these are observations.Writing: It did hit 60Mb-plus at times but at others it fell to 4kb, even 0 in a couple of spots. Just guessing at an average about 15Mb/sec..It seemed almost to give up near the end with 150Gb copied but plodded on at its own rate. The size of the file seemed to make no difference - some very large (music and image files) seemed to suffer the same vagaries as small document files.I copied 13,280 Files in 1,123 Folders adding up to 155GBIt's redeeming features are as the review title; for backing up data files as a complete set. I have used this model before and so far it has proved reliable but I don't use it on a daily basis. I've pulled individual files from dumps and they seem fine. If however you're doing a partial backup, a folder you update frequently, it does seem to take its time. I found it best to delete the original on the Lexar and copy the new. I do have three generations of backups (on these devices) so I'm ok with that.I didn't use the encryption feature so can't comment on that. It seems ok reading back HD videos and wav music files. So, adequate for me. I'd sooner pay £50+ for this than £100 for a super-duper one that might shave just a couple of minutes off the write time. .

I have another version that looks identical but
My original version of this item has an lcd display that gives a representation of how much memory is occupied even when it's not plugged in, this one doesn't have the display. The read/write speed indicated matches that claimed, near enough but unlike my old one you have to plug it in to check remaining space. display
