2TB M.2 2230 NVMe PCIe SSD Gen 4.0x4 Single-Sided Drive, 5100MB/s Read, 4800 MB/s Write SN740 Replacement (Upgrade for Steam Deck, Surface Pro 7, Surface Laptop 4)

The one question I had before buying is would it work with the Deck. Quick and easy swap, up and running. Haven't pulled out to the OS for synthetic benches, but I can say it is noticeably faster than the 256gb which is all that matters to me regarding speed. Can't tell any difference in battery life.

I now have 2 TB of internal storage and 1 TB of micro SD storage for my Steam Deck, and it feels amazing having all that room. So far it all just works, and there's not really anything to even talk about beyond that. Installation wasn't too bad. Just make sure you watch some videos of how to do it first and take your time with it. And make sure you've burned a recovery image to a USB drive or something, you don't wanna end up with no operating system on your device. I'll update this review if anything changes.

This chip was advertised as a little faster than the competition and it is undoubtedly a great deal for 2TB. It's been running solid in my steam deck for over a week, and I'm so glad I picked this one. It wasn't recommended on any of the tube videos I watched, but the Amazon reviews convinced me to take the chance. XPC has been going strong, and I don't foresee running out of room anytime soon either. My retro library runs great off this drive too, and the read/write speeds do not disappoint. Great value!

Works perfect.But make sure you have a good quality micro sd to do the “restore”. I didn’t have one and ended up using a regular sd and a usb hub after wasting a few hours. But once done it works well.The only negative I can say is go1 1tb and should have paid for the 2tb.

I bought this twice, once for my GPD Win Max 2022 and then for the 2023 revision, opted to not get the 2024 since too minor of an upgrade. So this is acting as unnecessary storage to put roms, videos, and pictures on. It works great for that. I can't speak to its longevity, but in my use case, it should be pretty good. As a main boot drive, I'd probably go more "ESTABLISHED" name brand and pay that premium their name brings with it. This will last a lot longer since it's not constantly being hit for daily use, and is a perfect fit for my needs, especially at this price point.If you're using this just as another STORAGE drive, then 100% recommend it. Should get a decent lifespan out of it, and is a great price. THOUGH, I do not recommend it for like "STEAM LIBRARY" storage. Since I think that may tax it a little too much, unless you don't play steam games constantly. In an attempt to max out my GPD WIN MAXes, it works great. I upgraded the main to 4TB and have two 1TB (Micro)SD cards in it with one 2TB 2230 drive. For a total of 8TB onboard storage. SINCE WHY NOT.

Drive is fast and works perfect with steamdeck. Install was simple and easy and I actually have room for games on my deck now.

Bought this for my ROG Ally. No issues. I cloned my previous drive so I didn't have to reinstall anything. Used a USB adapter, clones, swapped, booted and just went on like nothing happened but with some more storage.
