This hood is made mostly of metal and the finish is excellent. The retro design is great but the hood is also very functional.It is, of course, designed to be always left on the lens and is therefore non-reversible. Being so compact, that should not be a problem for anyone.It fits tightly on the 23mm f1.4 and feels like part of the lens itself when attached. The metal of the hood is similar anodised finish to the lens barrel. It feels nice and solid and unlike the stock plastic hood, it does not wobble.I can put the lens down front first on a surface when changing lenses. A major advantage.The cap is plastic and is much better designed than the rubber one of the 35mm because it doesn't fall off. It clips on and stays on.No doubt, the stock hood is flawed but nevertheless this is a nicely made product in it's own right and brings features that, to me, justify the price.Update: this product is so good I bought it again for my 56mm F1.2.

Looks the part, fits securely using a bayonet adaptor (included), and it's easy to reach the lens to change filters and whatnot.Unfortunately, as others have noted, the lens cap provided with the camera no longer fits.Fortunately it does fit with this one - the LH-JX100VII.Search on Amazon for ASIN B087LP9RMP

This hood is made of alloy with a good black finish, the interior has a crackeled stepped with a slide down plastic cap. The fit when first mounted is overly tight but after mounting it a few times it is a nice firm fit, testing against the stock petal hood into the sun from 9 oclock to 3 oclock the JFX23 was less prone to flear at half the price of the fuji one I can recommend the JJC-LH-JXF23 bonus is cap fit the fuji one as well.

I had the much more expensive Fujifilm hood - but it fell off and i lost it :(This its much better - it;s not a perfect colour match but it's close and no-one but me notices - ulitimately it is an attractive lens hood that works for a fraction of the price of the not as good Fujifilm one

This lens hood is blocking EVF, (X100V) which is not acceptable. Disappointed and returned !

Fits well and is made from good solid materials.

Foot and finish is excellent. Just feels a little lightweight. Wondered about durability. Only time will tell.

The build is ok, but not homogenic. I owned a previous silver version and I could attach a 52mm lens cap, but I can't apply it on the black version, while the lens hood seems just a bit smaller.

Ottimi materiali di costruzione, d’altronde è in metallo, o qualche lega, ma da ottime sensazioni di resistenza. Non croppa la ripresa, lo uso su 23mm f 1.4 e da un look totalmente più figo! Ho da ridere sul tappo usato davvero poco e già balla un poco, ma fa il suo lavoro

Helaas past deze met geen mogelijkheid op mijn Fuji XF 23 mm 1.4 R. Vreemd genoeg wel op de XF 56 mm 1.2
