Can it hold the original non-slim pen from surface pro 7 and before? i do not use the keyboard and the rechargeable version is not an option for me.

It has this portion at the top to hold your pen.

will it fit model QIM-00017?

Is that a Microsoft Surface model??? 🤔

Will this fit a ProX?

Does the keyboard get in the way if you want to use tablet mode on the go?

No, I remove the keyboard from the Surface as normal, and I'm in tablet mode. That is what makes the product so versatile...and still protects my Surface Pro.
