Great choice of recipes
Ordered this book as I love making sweets and chocolates. Although I haven't made anything from this book yet (only arrived today 22 June). The recipes, seem straight forward and informative. There is pictures to give the reader an idea of what the sweet your making looks like. There is a good selection of recipes including - Chocolates, fudges, liquorice, candid sweets, hard sweets, toffee and marzipan, plus many more. At the beginning of the book there is an introduction in the history of sweets and chocolate, which seems quite interesting.This book is ideal for novices and pro's alike.Some ingredients may be hard to find, and some may be expensive, but, a lot can be found online, Some supermarkets may also stock some of the ingredients. so do look around.

Best sweet making book ever
Bought this as I want to make sweets for gifts. Absolutely fabulous book, loads of recipes for every kind of sweets you can think of - many varieties of fudge, marshmallows, nougat, coconut ice, liquorice Pontefract cakes, cinder toffee, fondant, boiled sweets, the list goes on!The beginning of the book has concise, very useful, information about sweet making and gives details of equipment that is recommended, as well as information about ingredients.I love this book so much that I am ordering more to give as gifts, together with a sample of one of the recipes I made.I make sweets and chocolates not only for my own use but also for charity fund raising stalls and I can now make many different kinds.

Good clear instructions
There are a lot of recipes in this book, more than I'd realised. Good clear instructions. We've had a go at a few recipes, those involving pulled sugar are tricky to master as it's too hot to handle and some of the ingredients are difficult to find.Note - there are some smaller books for sale by the same author, almost all of the recipes in the smaller books are also in here, so I'd say just buy this one.

... making sweets from this book and the recipes are easy to understand
My husband and myself have started making sweets from this book and the recipes are easy to understand.Never made home made sweets before and to see the type of sweet we loved eating brings back some lovely memories.My husband now makes his Peanut Brittle on his own and it is just like we used to buy in the shops.

Brilliant illustrations.
These are really good. All the old fashioned sweets that have not been around for a while are in here. Enjoying looking at them all, going to make some for Christmas with granddaughter, canβt wait to do them.

As with most books, there are recipes I would and wouldn't use. On the whole a great book for handmade gifts

Phenomenal recipes - finally a confectionery book containing exceptional recipes
I have made the Sour Cherry Panforte from this book in the first week of receipt, and have highlighted many additional recipes to try. Contains genuine old fashioned Candy recipes, surpassing any other book Iβve tried!
