Wilkinson Hydro 5 Power Select Men's Razor

Bought this just over a month ago. I've always previously used Gilette products and never tried anything else. Decided to give this a shot whilst waiting to get new blades for my Fusion ProGlide (FPG).It has quite a different feel compared to the FPG whilst shaving but the end result is pretty similar. One thing it does better is that the moisturising strip lasts a lot longer than on the FPG (which tends to last around 5-6 shaves at most). After almost a month of using it (around 15 shaves) the moisturising strip still moisturises the face as well as the first time.The handle is quite a bit bigger but comfort-wise it's fine. One advantage of the FPG is the rear blade which is missing here but in practice you can still shave tight spots like under the nose without flicking the moisturising strip back.The blades are considerably cheaper than the FPG too (which also has a lot of fake blades in circulation as I discovered to my cost).Between the two razors I would rate the FPG slightly higher when using a new blade but the Hydro 5 blades last longer and are cheaper so I think it's better value in the long term. Recommended!

I've been using the new models of Gillette each time one came out in the hopes that they would be better than the last. For the first few shaves the razors are quite good but blades quickly deteriorate and lose their edge. I decided to try this top Wilkinson partly in search of a better shave and partly to see if blades lasted longer and were less expensive -Wilkinson tick all of those boxes for me! On top of all that I'm happy to be supporting a good British product. Paired with Men U shaving soap, unbeatable!! Down side? Compared to the Gillette, the Wilkinson razor has lighter feel that suggests poorer quality but so far it does the job very well and I end up with a house full of Gillettes because it's often the best way of getting the blades at lower prices so replacement razors are probably going to happen with Wilkinson also.Best shave, best price and best of British!!

Nice clean shave

Fingerprinting burglaries is 95% of a CSIs workload and the best source of offender prints is glass pulled out of a point of entry window frame. Consequently, a basic skill is handling broken glass by the broken edges only. You soon learn that a broken edge will not cut skin unless it is allowed to move across the fingers holding it, in which case it becomes a scalpel. Alas that principal, for me, meant a couple of small nicks whilst this razor was manically buzzing across my face. The Hydro 5 blades are substantially better than anything else on the market but I will be sticking with the conventional handle in future.

My husband gets a fantastic result with this razor. Comfortable to use and excellent value.Slightly concerning that a money off voucher in the box expired in 2014 😂

After 2 months the razor stopped vibrating and changing battery did not help. I tried to request a refund but this was refused since 30 days had passed.I would not buy this again.

I have sensitive skin on my neck & suffer from red razor burn even when using a good after shave balm. One week with this razor & the vibrating blade has stopped the razor burn, first time i have had no red rash on my neck for over 6 months

Arrived eventually. Tracked postage unexpected. Very good.

I can’t use any other razor! The vibration is key to a painless comfy shave! The moisture strip is perfect. Me and my 12 year old love this razor!
