Had one before. Waterpik is the best.
The Waterpik I had many years ago was not quite so daunting. I just had a Kitty oral irrigator which was much more basic but eventually broke. I had an expensive cordless flosser (another brand) but had to continuously fill it up and dreaded using it.I’m finding this countertop Waterpik excellent. Helpline included. Clear instructions but essentially have to experiment with caution as very powerful. Lots of picks.I feel it’s value for money because it’s a respected brand I’m familiar with. It had become tiresome buying different size manual picks and hoping you’re doing it right. I still floss because my teeth are very close together. I have lots of crowns/root canals. And I don’t want any more. This blasts any food particles away. Teeth definitely feel clean. 😁

Great product, reduced staining and improved gum health
I’ve had this for around 18 months and it’s still working well. I try to use it once a day. It has reduced staining and my gums feel healthier when I stick to using it every day. Some people are unhappy it doesn’t warm the water, I just use the water from the hot tap to get it to a bearable temperature. If you knew how many filthy bacteria live in our mouths, spitting out some water from the hot water system wouldn’t phase you.Good pressure, lots of attachments, good reservoir size, decent build quality.Game changer for bleeding gums.

Bit of a faff
Works ok but is a faff to use on a regular basis unless you don’t mind having it constantly on display in your bathroom. Takes a bit of getting used to, gave myself an unwelcome shower first time around, but it’s ok once you’ve mastered the technique.

Excellent product
Really pleased with flosser, much better than battery operated ones and flushes out tooth debris trapped under gumline.

Very, very good
I was sceptical about how good this would be but decided to give it a go to try to slow or stop the development of periodontal disease and gum pockets. It was a sort of "try anything once" decision, aided by a judicious price reduction resulting, no doubt, from Amazon tracking my interest in it.First impressions were of a slight disappointment; very plasticky (as you have to expect, I guess) and a part of you wonders how it comes to cost as much as it does. The mains cord is just long enough to be useful (in my bathroom) but the coiled hose which feeds the flosser head is too short really; another 15 or 20cm would be better. The instructions are pretty good, and there's an assortment of different heads / probes for the device. So far, I've really only used the "basic" one (there are three basic ones provided, colour coded). The periodontal probe looks pretty mean, and there are warnings only to use it on the lowest pump speeds.Operationally, no problems. It's simple to understand and simple to use. The reservoir holds enough for a good old cleaning session (and yes, DO read the bit about filling it with warm water - put cold in it and you'll be on the ceiling). I started cleaning on the lowest pressure setting and thought it a bit tame so cranked it up to pretty much max. Crikey. It's a little like having needles jabbed in your gums, but - without getting too nitty-gritty in the detail - you wouldn't believe the stuff this thing shifts from between your teeth and in your gums, especially the first time you use it.I've been using it for three days now and I'm impressed. My gums are noticeably less inclined to bleed when brushing and the slight inflammation I noticed, before using this machine, has gone. This is just using plain warm water twice a day though earlier today I did pour a few ml of 12% hydrogen peroxide into an almost-full reservoir of water to have a go at any bacterial activity. (NOTE: 12% peroxide is waaay too strong to be used undiluted, and don't even think about using even a dilute solution until you've got used to the way the jet of water behaves and how to manipulate the probe. It'll bleach your clothes if it gets on them, and if you get it in your eyes you're potentially in real trouble). Now thinking about buying a "portable" version for when I'm travelling. I shall miss this extra level of cleanliness when I'm away, if not.My only reservation is the plasticky lightweight build. Waterpik guarantee it for two years so we'll see. Otherwise I heartily recommend this to you if you have - or want to avoid - problems with gums.FOLLOWUP REVIEW 7 DEC: I try to make sure I use this at least once a day, ideally morning after breakfast and in the evening before bed. It's made a huge difference to my gum health; went for my 6 monthly hygienist and dentist checkup the other day and they both remarked on the significant improvement. Dentist said that periodontal disease which was becoming very evident has been stopped in its tracks, and largely disappeared. He reckons that if I keep going the way I am, the gum pockets which were forming will heal and prolong the life of my teeth and gums. I'm very, very pleased.

Wonderful, until it stopped working
A bit of a learning curve if you have never used a water flosser before, which is not problem in and of itself. We ended up using the kitchen sink as no room in the bathroom. Again, no problem. Teeth did indeed look whiter after about a week and gums felt great after just 3 days. The problem is it only worked for 4 weeks, then broke. Totally kaput. Was out of the UK on business for a while, returned to discover no ability to return to Amazon. So now have to waste untold hours that I don't have to return/fix/refund an item that shouldn't have been faulty in the first place. Wondering if I should just bypass all of that and file in a small claims court just to save time. If this product still worked, would have given 5 stars.Edit: I emailed the company with explanation of what had happened and was pleasantly surprised. I was given a full replacement and not requested to mess around with sending the broken device back. The replacement arrived promptly, is working well and the family has a very good water flosser again. So, from 1 star to 3 stars. If it manages to keep on working, happy to add another star in the near future. As I said - when this thing is working, it is absolutely brilliant. Previous grumpiness due to being fed up with things in general breaking soon after purchase. The family does love this flosser, though. Even my 11 year old - initially rather dubious - raves about how good her teeth feel after using it. If you do run into problems, the company aftercare appears to be exceptionally good.
