Pizza stone made from ultra-conductive steel. Inspired by Modernist Cuisine, the Baking Steel is more conductive cooking surface than stone and stores up to 18 x more energy than a traditional pizza stone. Because of that conductivity, it cooks faster and more evenly at a lower temperature, resulting in beautiful, thin, crispy crust. WE DO NOT SHIP TO P.O. BOXES.

No more soggy bottoms
This is basically just a heavy, well finished sheet of ΒΌ inch steel but it's transformed my bog standard electric oven. It works brilliantly for baking bread and, when used in conjunction with the oven grill, home made pizza is a real treat. It even greatly improves shop bought chilled pizzas and tarts with almost perfectly cooked bases rather than the usual soggy bottoms. Not cheap but very well worth it in my opinion.

good product (if a bit too expensive for what it is)
if you have access to a metal workshop you can get a much thicker (better thermal conductivity / better for baking) bit of steel plate for at least half of the cost - but then you will have to strip the industrial oil off it / round off any sharp edges / season it all yourself. While I would have preferred to do that I do not have access to a metal workshop and had been scouring ebay for long enough that I lost patience and bought this one.I can't say I'm disappointed - it has a nice finish and is practical for those who don't have the time/energy to DIY.

An investment, but one that changes the game for the home pizza maker
If you're even remotely bothered about having great pizza at home, then this is worth every penny. With a homemade dough, sauce and decent quality toppings, you can easily recreate restaurant-standard pizza at home.Yes, it's a decent investment, but it is virtually bulletproof and with proper care and attention will likely last a lifetime. It's less money than buying a wood-fired oven for the garden, or an attachment for the barbecue. Any form of baking will be made infinitely better. If you go through pizza stones regularly - give this a go.A word of warning, though. It's HEAVY. Don't drop this thing on anything soft or squishy.

Home bread baking gamechanger
Best thing I've bought for my home breadbaking.Absolute game changer - through away your pizza stone and get this the change in the results is amazing. Not just in terms of a quality of bread, but also consistency of results.Oh, and pizzas are much better now too.

The best!
Perfect crispy base to our pizza- the search for the perfect crust is over! Pizza stones just not up to the job in a normal oven- until I decided o pay a bit more and invest in a steel- heavy, but well worth it!Heartily recommend it!

Finally, a baking 'stone' that works
So I've tried a few stones to get that pizza crust that bakers aim for. The terracotta ones cracked too quickly. A 'firebrick' one didn't cook the pizza crust anywhere near enough, leaving a doughy base, despite setting my oven as hot as it would go. And it was cumbersome, at 1in thick. While the baking steel is very heavy, it's only 1/4in thick, so it's easier to find a home for it. But the most important thing is that I'm finally getting the pizza crust I'm after. And I've made bread on it too. Slide the dough on to it, get a bit of steam in the oven, and the amount of oven spring I'm getting is great. And baking time is much quicker too.One of the main reasons I didn't mind spending a bit more was that the chances of this thing cracking like a cheaper stone is close to zero, so no more replacing pizza stones. Bottom line: I'd recommend this to anyone who bakes bread as well as pizza
