Out of date really quickly
Was going to use these when I developed a cold sore, but they had a short 'use by' date and I had to throw them away.

An excellent product and I have only had a couple of small cold sores after starting to take this product around 18 months ago. Prior to this I was getting 2-3 large cold sores a month. The tablets are smaller and easier to swallow than some of the other Lysine tablets I have tried.

Helps keep cold sores at bay
I have changed my diet and exercise regime considerably over the last three months and for the first few weeks got one cold sore after another - very unusual for me to get more than three a year so I suspected my lifestyle changes were the trigger. Zovirax is not working for me any more so I researched Lysine and decided to try the 500mg tablets which thankfully have worked a treat. I take one every two days and this seems to work for me. You can also buy a Lysine lip balm. I hope these work for you. Good luck! UPDATE: I got to a point where I had to have extra help with my cold sores, so I bought a Lipzor device (available from Amazon). Having taken the Lysine regularly and used the Lipzor whenever a cold sore has threatened to come up or sneakily managed to break through, I can say my new regime is working.

The only cold-sore 'cure' I know
The only thing that will stop cold sore break outs in the long term. Been taking these for years and I swear by them. Used several different brands, and Higher Nature seems to work as well as the best among them.

Pauling seemed to think this was important
It is, as far as I can tell, harmless and may do you some good (connective tissue and deposits in your arteries and veins may benefit). Not for everybody. Use only if you get lots of information about it first. Research it and yourself before you decide.
