Good value for quality tools
I bit the bullet in buying this set after a lot of research, opting to go for brushless drivers and 5Ah batteries. The set is cheaper than if the components (including the case and insert) were bought separately. I've attempted to link all of the components so you can see how they are reviewed and costed as separate items, which should make it easier for other prospective purchasers. Bought separately the items would cost £400.12 - over £60 more. The DHP459 combi-drill is the cheapest of the Makita brushless range, but is still a really good tool. It has all metal gear construction, 16 torque settings, variable speed and reverse, and a 13mm single sleeve keyless chuck.I see other reviewers for this set have complained about the power of this drill, but you will see from the reviews of the drill itself it is a good tool and powerful enough for general use. I am very happy with it. Makita DHP459Z 18 V 45Nm Brushless Combi Drill - Blue The DTD158 Impact driver is awesome. Driving screws has never been so easy. Makita DTD153Z Brushless Impact Driver - Blue The two 5Ah batteries are brilliant and hold plenty of charge. Makita BL1850 18 V 5.0 Ah Li-ion LXT Battery Pack The charger is good. I wasn't expecting it to be fan cooled. Makita DC18RC 14.4 - 18 V Li-ion Fast Battery Charger The Makpak case is good and sturdy Makita 821551-8 MakPac Type 3 Connector Case and comes with an insert for the drill and driver Makita 837864-7 Inlay Tray MAKPAC Type 3 Case For Drill Twin Pack All in all, this set is fantastic value, and I would happily recommend it to others. I hope you found this review helpful. Thanks.

Impact driver and 5A batteries are brilliant, drill not so good

Dont waste you money like I did
Every combi kit has a weak link and this one is the drill. It struggled to drill a 12mm hole through 2 x 75mm timber joists in 2nd gear. Also the 2nd gear at 1500 rpm is too slow for smaller drills. Yes brushless is great as the battery lasts so much longer, but I had to go out and buy another drill. I bought the Makita DHP481 which is nothing short of awesomes at 125nm of torque. My advice is not to buy cheap as you'll have to buy twice.

5a batteries are great
Not the most powerful drill, 5a batteries are great though
