OtterBox STRADA SERIES Case for iPhone Xs & iPhone X - Frustration Free Packaging - ESPRESSO (DARK BROWN/WORN BROWN LEATHER)

I've always loved Otterbox over my years of iPhones, but got away from them with battery cases like Mophie available. But now that I've moved up to the iPhone X, for which a Mophie is not available, I decided to move back into Otterbox. I started with a great black Symmetry. And it worked very well. However I started having apps open on their own when the phone was in my pocket due to the exposed face. And I was concerned about the open facing of the expensive iPhone X. So I decided to try the Strada. I've never gotten into a wallet-style phone cases, just too much for my need, and I have a separate wallet and don't want to start piling cards and stuff into my phone case. The Strada was very minimal in design, adheres well to the KISS priniciple. So I purchased this Strada and have loved it. It's got a simple face cover and I keep just two business cards in the inside thin pocket. I thought I'd have a problem with dealing with the open and closing of a case "cover", but didn't at all. It's just like the Kindle I've used forever, open it like a small book and have access. The utility of the case is outstanding, and of course Otterbox quality in design and construction all the way around. I couldn't decide between the worn leather brown or black, so I started with the brown since it was so different and it's just great. Feels great to the touch, looks terrific and works well. With that having been said, I'm going to buy the black as well now that I know it functionally works well, and will see how that looks too. I've always had black cases. Nothing wrong with swapping out when needing a more business-looking or conservative-looking case. This brown leather look is much more casual, but not too casual. So this rings all the bells--functionality, quality, appearance--on a normal high quality Otterbox scale.

I really want to like this case. It's slim fitting, fits, the phone very well, and the cover flap makes me feel like the screen would be very well protected. However, as a very left-handed person, I find the flap really gets in the way when trying to use my phone. I never know what to do with it. If it weren't for the cut outs for the camera and the microphones, I could solve my issue by flipping the case around and using it that way. For someone more ambidextrous, this may not be an issue. If Otterbox would make a left-handed Strada case, I would definitely buy one.UPDATE: After trying several other types of phone cases, I did end up keeping this case and actually like it much more than I thought I would. The flap still gets in the way, but not nearly as much as it did at first. I do like the way it fits the phone, and I do feel like my screen is protected by the flap when it is closed. The magnet holds it closed very well. I bumped my rating to 4 stars after using it for a period of time.

The other reviewers received a different case than me or mistook this case for one fitting an iPhone 8. The case I received is too large for the iPhone 8 and too small for the iPhone 8 Plus (the iPhone Wikipedia page is great for comparing iPhone sizes). It appears to be the right dimensions for an iPhone X, but I won’t know for sure whether it fits until the phone is released and shipped.The case looks beautiful, and I’m looking forward to using it.

I knew I wanted the Strada again after having it for previous 2 iPhones. I was a little disappointed in the less than stellar fit of flap. The leather feels slightly cheaper than expected but after a little time it will break in and likely feel better. A little disappointed that it can’t be used as a stand (I didn’t realize that according to Otterbox only the Plus models offer the stand so I just assumed that it was with all Strada cases). Not a deal breaker but a little bit of a disappointment when it’s something I’ve been used to. Overall I still feel like it’s a great case and will definitely offer protection that I expect from Otterbox...assuming that the flap doesn’t stray during a fall. One major plus is more of an aesthetic thing...I’m happy that the soft part is a darker color. My previous one for my plus was light and got dirty too easily. Speaking of the soft part...I am disappointed that it is not on the inside where the back of the phone is. It’s clearly not because it affects wireless charging because the 8 Plus case still had it. I’m concerned that the hard plastic may cause small scratches to the glass back of the phone. I’m used to keeping my iPhone pristine for optimal resell value so that’s the only reason it concerns me. May not be the case but it made me be cautious and opt to leave the plastic that came on the phone entact on the back glass...just in case.For those with sound issues (I haven’t had the issue luckily)...Otterbox does state that the case is designed for you to be able to talk on your phone with the flap closed and this should eliminate the hollow or tunnel sound some mention. Give it a try. Was also true for the plus models.

I've now used three different models of this case with my last 3 phone. I love it. The only downfall is that the magnet on the cover eventually breaks off as it's only held on by the leather of the case.

To begin with the cover is beautiful and protects the phone. I’m not a heavy caller but noticed whenever on phone people always wanted to me to speak louder or I end up turning the speaker on.Recently I discovered that the case actually covers the mic resulting in muffled sound to the listener on the call.I did an experiment by taking the case off and talked, the mic quality improves.Too bad I discovered this after the return window closed so I just have to bear the loss.

It's nice: protects the phone well, looks good and made well. It is not well-thought through though - you can't flip the folio open using your thumb. You need to use both hands to do it.

La piel es de excelente calidad y lo que más me gusto son los acabados que son muy buenos. Tu celular no lo hace ver rudo y la protección es buenísima.
