Honestly a great story, she’s very relatable and the artwork is rlly cute too. Would recommend if anyone else feels the same with queer loneliness :]

Very much worth a read, and great to see some honest representation. Heavier themes than I was expecting (such as self harm, suicide and eating disorders, I didn't do loads of research before buying so that's on me), but still humerous. Well written, beautifully illustrated, and funny and sad at the same time. An interesting story, and a relatable depiction of loneliness and dysfunction in day to day life. I have started the second book in the series, which is also very good so far and a bit lighter while remaining funny. A good comic that I was slightly unprepared for but thoroughly enjoyed, I look forward to reading the other volumes

Despite the attention-grabbing title and cover artwork, this is a comic which focuses primarily on highly relatable feelings of loneliness rather than gratuitous scenes of lesbian fun. It's a gritty, awkward tale steeped in uncomfortable truths about growing up in the modern world. The artist lays every single part of herself bare to share her experiences with the reader, depicting a world which will make onlookers wince and smile bitterly in equal measure. Please don't write it off as something only LGBTQ+ readers can enjoy, even though it's wonderful to see more serious material of that nature making it across to the UK. Whatever your personal preferences, this book takes a raw, intimate look at depression and is a valuable read for anyone who has ever felt that way growing up. The English print edition is well translated and printed in black and white with bold pink highlights, to create a striking standalone volume which will brighten up any (mature) bookshelf. One of my best buys in ages, highly recommended.

The autobiography about a young woman who is depressed and trying hard to accept herself. I enjoyed the book,some parts were funny and some were sad i wanted to reach through the book and give the author a hug. I do hope she gets better and that her next book would be a story on how she found love. That said its a Japanese manga and its my first time reading manga on my phone so rhat was an intereting experience. The art was okay, it fits the purpose of the story. Overall it was good

Although my struggles are nowhere near as bad as the author's experiences, there were parts of this story that really struck a chord with me. I could not recommend this story enough. As an autobiographical work, My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness is a difficult but rewarding read. Touching upon sexuality, loneliness, isolation, self-hatred, eating disorders and self harm, this is the struggle of a woman coming to terms with what she wants out of her life compared to the weight of expectations other people have of her. Although her life is still not perfect at the end of the novel, you can tell how much she has grown and learnt that it's okay to be her own person. That's something we should all keep in mind.

Wow. Kabi has validated me in ways i never thought I could be, and made feel less alone. I don’t think I can overstate how much I relate to her. With the depressing subject content, she maintains this grounding humour throughout that’s expressed by her adorable illustrations. Ive ordered all her work.

Interesting story about attempting to overcome depression. Although it is an autobiography of sorts, it leaves a lot to be desired with story, you can breeze through it in like 15 minutes and go 'so this happened and this happened, but why do I want to read more and why do I care?'. You kinda do have to share or be able to relate to the authors problems to appreciate it enough, and at the time I did, so I did end up enjoying it and I do love the unique art style and color palette. I only discovered and gained interest in this manga through the Crunchyroll anime awards, in which it later won, and I felt it stood out compared to most of the others so I picked it up. This is definitely not worth an award, but maybe compared to the other nominees it is. It's a book that you want more out of. But in the end I did find it a relatable and interesting story about a lesbian's experience with loneliness that was worth my 15 minutes.

El manga el excelente, el formato, la calidad de las páginas y el como respetaron las páginas a color del manga japonés, se nota la calidad y cariño que siempre le ponen a sus mangas Seven Seas. La historia es densa y te muestra una historia de depresión y superación de una persona que no por eso tiene que ser mala, a parte va acompañado de un estilo de dibujo curioso en el que va muy bien con la historia.

Ce manga aborde des sujets importants et intéressant, on rentre dans la vie de l'autrice, qui se livre entièrement. J'ai vraiment aimé le lire, c'est une très bonne lecture, on y aborde la santé mentale, la sexualité...

Una pasada de lectura. La historia, a pesar de su crudeza, es ante todo sincera y despierta mucha empatía en sus lectoras y lectores. El dibujo es muy sencillo y amigable con una paleta de colores muy acertada. Su perspectiva sobre el tratamiento social de la depresión y la ansiedad es la más sincera y sencilla de hacer entender que he visto nunca.

As the title of the book suggests, this is an autobiographical manga, and Kabi Nagata doesn't pull any punches when it comes to who she is. This is a story about her life, how she became who she is, and how she's seen herself throughout her life. It's a really honest, intimate look at a human being's thoughts and views, and incredibly relatable. Even if you don't have much in common with a Japanese lesbian who struggles with mental illness, the way she draws visual metaphors and writes out clear explanations of her internal feelings makes it very easy to empathise with her and understand her. It takes a lot of effort to write about difficult personal topics in a way that feels so effortless to read and understand. This is a single standalone volume that is half as long as your average manga, but it must be noted that this was originally a digital comic on pixiv rather than a traditional magazine-published manga, and so every page is drawn in black, white and pink. The artstyle is cute and charmingly messy, but composed very intelligently. Kabi Nagata has published traditional manga before (none that have been translated into English besides this, as of this review), and her genuine skill as a mangaka is clear on every page. This additional colour and the very high quality paper makes the price worthwhile: at the time of writing this, it's not much more expensive than any other manga volume. I have to recommend this wholeheartedly. I think anybody can get something out of reading it.

Very touching story i could kind of relate to and i really liked the art style
