Due to a recent diagnosis of diabetes & high blood pressure I have had to change my eating routine.I am now eating more fruit and veg. Apples are always a pain to core and cut and with this tool it is instant.Without it I know I wouldn’t bother having an apple out of laziness.I will get another to take to work. Great item.

I'd put off buying anything like this for such a long time; why bother? What's wrong with a knife? But I'm now glad I finally bought it. Easy to use, just line it up and push it down. The chunks, and they are chunks, are large, and the core still has too much apple left on it for my liking (hence dropping a star), but it's quick and easy when my disabled Sister asks for an apple.When using it, a swift steady downward push will provide you with a clean cut. It's a bit fiddly getting the core out, but a blunt object works better than having your fungers cut up.Washing is a breeze (remember your fingers!) and it is a satisfyngly hefty piece of kit.

I thought this would potentially just be a gadget that would hang out in the drawer likea spiraliser. But if you have kids you’ll use this daily maybe. So handy! Love it.

This is so easy to use with an good shaped grip. I wish I had got one sooner instead of digging out the hull with a knife, and when my other half prepared strawberries, half of it was in the bin as he couldn't be bothered to hull them so just cut the top quarter to half off the strawberry, depending how big the leaves were. That's why I bought this as he was so wasteful. This makes it so much quicker to prepare strawberries. It even removes the leaves, and it doesn't take half the strawberry with it. It just need a quick swish off to clean it, so I don't know why people are putting it in the dishwasher and having it fail, it's just lazy. I don't put anything like this in the dishwasher as it only takes seconds to ckean.

This cuts apples with minimal effort. Just line up the central part with where the core is and push down hard. I found it easy but I do suspect that anyone with arthritis or similar problems might find it hard. The apple pieces are nice and even and only one had a little bit of residual core left on it. I suspect it is a case of practise makes perfect.I tried it with medium and large eating apples and it was large enough to cope but is not large enough for a larger cooking apple such as a Bramley.The device is easy to wash and seems solid and well made - but only time will tell.
