The benchmark for mechanical pencils
I've been using this model of pencil for years, I love the precision needle like tip as it allows greater accuracy when making technical drawings. The pencil has an excellent build quality and a beautiful technical design. The mechanism is reliable and it grips the lead firmly so that it doesn't wobble and flex. The eraser located under the cap is a perfect size for correcting minor mishaps without disturbing surrounding lines, the eraser does an superb job and virtually removes all traces of the mistake. The barrel diameter is on the lower limit of what I consider comfortable to use and I would like to see the diameter increased slightly, however the 12 sided barrel makes it comfortable to hold and the sturdy pocket clip prevents the pencil from rolling off of the desk. My only gripe against this pencil is that I keep losing them! Having just lost the one I purchased 5 days ago (that I bought to replace another one I had lost) I am going to have to buy another one as I can't bear using an inferior pencil.

My Favourite Thing To Sketch With
This arrived on time and in good condition, I was slightly surprised as it arrived in just an envelope with a bit of bubble wrap without anything else with it but the pencil itself was fine. It comes with no instructions about how to refill the pencil but I already knew how, you just pull off the silver click button thing on the bottom, wiggle off the rubber and then drop the lead in, replace all of the things you removed and the click continuously until the lead comes out. When I opened my pencil up I noticed it already had about 5 or 6 leads in it.This pencil is lovely to sketch with. I'm studying fashion and I love using mechanical pencils as they do not need sharpening and give you even lines throughout your illustrations. It feels really strong and sturdy in your hand, it's so much better than those cheap plastic ones you can get. I can just tell this will last me years. For the price it is amazing, 100% recommend.

Consistent thickness, elegant design, satisfying to use.
Mechanical pencils may not sound the most high tech items - but really, they do make life that much easier - especially ones as well designed as this one. The barrel is ribbed, allowing a good grip on what is otherwise a smooth surface, as the material used is a very hard (potentially brittle) plastic. The clip is sensibly metal, and so doesn't just break on first use (as the cheaper all plastic ones tend to do.) Refills are readily available, and at 0.5 mm, provides a clean and sharp line. Gone are the shavings and nuisance of messing around with a sharpener at work - this has taken over from pretty much all my pens (bit of a fountain pen junkie here) and there is a handy eraser built in, under the metal "click" button at the top.

Excellent value, genuine product
Excellent value compared to shops. Bear on mind that the pencil has only one lead loaded and one spare, so you will need to buy extra leads.

I am lost without one
I ordered ten of these brilliant pencils last year, placing them at strategic points throughout my home office, at work and in my mobile office case, so that I never need to look for them. Even so, they wander, so I am ordering more. I use them extensively for long mathematical calculations, as they are the nearest thing to perfection for that purpose. I find that the leads do not break as frequently as other pencils tend to, and the built-in eraser does the job without smearing or damaging the paper. Photocopies of corrected work do not show any erased traces as a rule. In use, the grip of the P205 is just fine for my hand, which is not small, and I do not suffer from cramp using this pencil.I invested in spare leads and spare erasers, so that I can just work without fuss or delay. I recommend the HB 0.5x60 mm Pentel "AIN" spare leads and the Pentel Z2-1N 4-tub set of spare erasers, which are low cost. This pencil (the Pentel P205) is there when it is needed and just works as required: a real design classic at a surprising low cost.
