Good hub, some infrequent ethernet connection issues + speaker noise
Has been working very well to extend the USBC port of my Lenovo 720s and connect to wired ethernet. Unfortunately I am not able to power my laptop through the USBC while using the HDMI port of the hub, but that's an issue with the laptop port setup, not with this hub.I've had a small number of occurrences of short ethernet interruptions when I transfer large files through the USB3 ports. Not often enough to be annoying, but there is an issue there...Update August 2018:I've discovered one major flaw. I have external powered USB speakers that I connect through this device. It all works well, except when I am also connecting it to USB-C power for the laptop. Then there is constant buzzing noise on the speakers, some sort of 60 Hz bleed-through probably. The noise is quite loud and unacceptable. Dropping to 3 stars.

Never Worked On Chromebook
This unit "looks" like it was well built. Attractive metal housing. Feels solid. I hooked it up to my Samsung Chromebook. Nothing. I tried everything but could not get this thing to work. I threw it in a box and forgot about it. After several Chromebook updates, I decided to try it again. Once again, nothing. I ordered a similar unit made by "fit Tek" that doesn't have the ethernet port but has everything else. It was cheaper and works flawlessly. It might work on Windows or Linux but the USB-C is standard on the Samsung Chromebook and that is why I bought it. Too bad it is now headed for the garbage.

Works well with Linux - Ubuntu 7.10
I bought it for my Yoga 920 laptop running Ubuntu 7.10 and found that it works well out of the box without drama.I tested the ethernet, USB pass-through ports, HDMI display output, MicroSD slot, and charging with the power pass-through USB-C port. All worked as they should. The charger port sometimes has to be unplugged and re-plugged sometimes to make it detect the power, but it does that even when it's plugged directly to the laptop with no pass-through, so I don't blame the adapter.Build quality seems pretty good so far. It generally works as expected.

Poor quality, fake reviews
HDMI output does not work - tried with multiple usb c and hdmi devices. Bought an alternative that does work. The cable looks like it was almost in used condition as well. The other ports work but get pretty hot and cause my Mac to studder and glitch occasionally. Also a lot of the other reviews on this product look fake. For example the review mentioning the macbook air which doesn't even have USB C ports... Absolutely no way this product should have a 5/5 rating.

unreliable
SD card gets loose on reader slot, will not fit tightly and it becomes a nightmare to import photos. Recently, it completely stopped working. Cant use ethernet port (wont light up), cant read SD cards, can power up. I guess its dead. I would expect this to be more reliable and to last several years.

Defective HDMI
HDMI port was sending data (the display name could be read), but no picture was shown using any of my displays or TV.

So far so good with everything in one adapter!
This adapter is really helpful! It has pretty much everything you need in just one device. I've tested the usb, HDMI and SD ports and all work good while charging the computer!I'll update my review when I get to test the rest of the ports but so far so good.
