Gardman A01314 Feeding Station Patio Stand, Black

I have had a Gardman Deluxe feeding station for some years now and it has always been inserted into the ground via a spike. Unfortunately this means that when the soil is wet and soft, or large birds such as magpies or pigeons land on it, can tilt to one side or swing around. It also means that moving it around the garden can become a major job if the subsoil is rocky or compacted. I therefore bought this stand to allow easier re-siting and more flexibility in regard to where I put it. Having had the stand for about a month now I am delighted with it. The spike on the feeding station fits into it perfectly and it holds the fully laden feeding station firmly and upright. To date, it has coped well with the large bird alighting on it, even a particularly fat pair of pigeons, without swivelling or leaning over. It is now easy to move the station around the garden when required and allows me to use a larger variety of locations, including a concrete patio. On thing to be aware of is that, because the spike does not go into the holder as far as it would if it was pushed into the ground, the whole thing stands a good 18 inches higher than it did before. This is probably better for the birds but means that you need to be quite tall to hang the feeders on it without using steps. I'm six foot tall and have to reach up to hang the feeders.

Excellent base which fitted perfectly to my Guardman birdfeeder station. It was not as large as I was expecting and I was a little worried at first that it wouldn't be stable enough. I needn't have worried, it's perfectly stable - even when the three fat pigeons, who visit on a daily basis, decide to squabble over who's turn it is to sit in the basket and raid the feeders. It was easy to assemble, just be aware that the feeders will be a lot higher than if its hammered into the ground. I'm 5ft 8 and can just manage to unhook them for refilling. I'd say anyone 5ft 6 and under may need a step or a hook to get them down. The birds seem to like the height though, as it's further away from my cat.

Bought this because I wanted it closer to the window and have patio there. Its heavy enough to keep the feeder in place and the colours fit in nicely with garden. I had to phone up the company for an extra piece of pole because the feeder is too high off the ground when not pushed below surface so they sent a shorter piece.However, I bought this a long time ago and only used it for less than a season because it attracted so many pigeons I had pigeon mess all over everywhere in heaps. On my patios and paths, my garage, shed, my gate, garden furniture just everywhere and it really was in heaps. I didnt know what it was just that it looked an eyesore but when I realised it just had to go. Only now at least 3 years on from packing it away in my garage have the pigeons calmed down to an acceptable level. Some still come but dont stay that long as I leave out no bird food now sadly, they just go to where the food is.Its a shame because the little birds suffer because of the pigeons but I cant deal with the mess and clearing up and not being able to go out in my garden without being surrounded by XXXX.

This is a really excellent heavy base for the Gardman bird feeding station. My feeding station now remains completely upright, even withstanding the onslaught from jackdaws and ring-necked parakeets from time to time! The feeding station also remains stable even in very high winds. Another plus point to this is that it has made the feeding station that much taller, which is now preventing a neighbour's very agile young cat from leaping up and snatching small birds from the seed feeders. I would recommend this product to anyone with a cat problem as, provided the seed and nut dispensers are set high up on the feeding station, it puts the birds out of reach to cats. Its true that you will probably need to stand on something to fill the feeders at that height, but its a small price to pay to be able to keep the birds safe and enjoy watching them while they feed.

Great sturdy stand. My feeder pole was in a flower bed, but due to the constant wet weather, seeds were growing black mould under the feeder, creating a horrible smell and mess. I wanted to move the feeder pole to the patio, so I can easily sweep up the wet seed. This stand has done the trick, I’ve had it up a few weeks now and theres been a few very windy days and it still remains standing, really heavy and sturdy and fits poles up to 29cm. Mine wasn't a gardman pole and fits fine. Wish I’d bought one sooner, would’ve saved me the job of picking up black stinky stringy mould!

Excellent patio stand for our new feeding station. It is extremely heavy and does it's job very well. Where we live, on the edge of a valley in Wales we do get extremes of weather especially gales, so we do have to move the stand and feeding station without the feeders to somewhere more sheltered as it was falling over. The reason for it being out in the open is to protect the feeders from the Squirrels ( they can jump 9 ft apparently) otherwise we wouldn't need to move it. I have given it 5 stars because it is very well made and our circumstance's are a little extreme so no fault of the stand itself and we always knew it could be a problem.

A good product but do remember to lubricate the clamping screw or eventually it will seize up

Tired of constantly repositioning our bird feeding station in the soil every time the wind (or overweight birdies!) made it lean to one side, finally relented and bought one of these stands. Really heavy and sturdy! Easy to assemble too. Don't know why we waited so long to get one. Only thing you need to do if it's not going on a patio is ensure you put a slab underneath to give it a level surface. Good price and speedily delivered. Just take care when handling it though, because it IS heavy!

le socle de la station de nourrissage et de très bonne qualité, très lourd , et le tube est très simple a monté la note explicative est très bien expliquée, est le tube possède plusieurs adaptateur pour diffèrent tubes

Había comprado la estación de alimentación para pájaros de la misma empresa y en los comentarios de Amazon vi que el soporte lo sujetaba bien. Facilita mover todo el conjunto por el jardín y es fácil de acoplar. Para mi es un complemento ideal

Questa base di supporto non è adatta a ombrelloni di nessun genere come qualcuno ha recensito, è una Base per Stazione di Alimentazione per Uccelli, il che la rende del tutto inutile se acquistata per sostenere un ombrellone, ciò perchè ha il foro di entrata troppo piccolo. Devo dire che per il suo scopo è davvero molto valida, anche se leggermente troppo cara a mio modesto parere.

Es un soporte muy estable y pesado. Lo he coprado para mi estación de alimentar pájaros y estoy muy contenta, ya que impide que se mueva.

L'idée est bonne, la réalisation est nulle.Ce pieds a été soudé de travers si bien que la station de nourrissage ressemble à la tour de Pise, en pire.Esthétiquement laid, inutilisable avec certains accessoires de la station, j'ai pris une petite masse, et hop, la station dans la terre et le support dans le cabanon en train de rouillé.Dommage pour ce prix.
