Excellent quality and value.
Mainly used with a Trend table, but also works really well the 'right way up'. Packed with genuinely useful features for table use, including above-the-table tool changing and height adjustment. I also rate the way that spring removal is a ten second job, although mind your eyes! There seem to be a couple of different versions that look very similar but with different clutch release mechanisms on the right-hand handle. Mine is the 'press-button' version which is easy to use in my experience. The dust extraction port works well enough with my cobbled together hose solution, perhaps Triton's own system might be a bit neater but I don't think it's essential.Certainly powerful enough to cope with everything I have thrown at it so far. Against some of the competition (e.g. Trend) represents excellent value for money.

A huge router, but it would have to be because of the power it has
This router is the best choice to use on a router table, due to its power, the ease of raising the router to the top and, automatically locking, to change the cutters, the precaution of not connecting when at the top, the possibility of using shanks 1 / 2, 1/4, 12mm, 8mm, 6mm, and shanks with a superior quality, already comes with a shank of 1/2 and another of 12mm

triton router
The item is excellent. It arrived on time, and was well packed. At the same time as buying the router I bought the router table to go with it, and there I found a problem. There was no way to adust the height of the router bits from the top of the table, despite the fact that it is advertised as such, and despite supplying a long adjusting tool to do it with. Fortunately I found an article in the Woodworker magazine where they had encountered the same problem, and told you how to drill the surface of the table to get to the router. During the course of this problem I repeatedly tried to get in touch with Triton Routers, and couldn't. The email address given on their website did not work, and the UK telephone number given was a none number. In this respect Amazon was less than helpful, giving me the same telephone number again, and a different one that got me through to a company who supplied spare parts but was otherwise totally unconnected with Triton. I found out eventually that the table I had been supplied with had gone out of production, and was no longer being supplied by the Company. The Company, which is based in Australia, has been uncontactable throughout this, and remains so. So if you want the product it is good, but if you should ever want to contact the company you haven't a cat in hells chance!

this particular model comes highly recommended by everyone who used it
The item arrived before time well packed and packaged. I will not dwell on it apart of it being a Triton and it is extremely strong one of the main features is the ability to connect it to a router table and adjust height from the top with the accompanied wrench. This to me was one of the main reasons I went with Triton brand, but why this model, since I was spending the money I got this powerful tool so no regrets in the future. Moreover, this particular model comes highly recommended by everyone who used it.

4 Stars (but be sure you know what you will be using it for)
This is a monster in terms of power (with loads of intelligent design) and a very heavy beast to boot. I found the soft start not so soft. It is too heavy and awkward to use for anything but as part of a table set up or (if fully hand held) the operator can remain directly over it with both arms sharing the weight equally. So for a kitchen project cutting mitres on fully stable and supporting surfaces it performs flawlessly. For fiddly work like deepening sash window frames for double glazing you would not want to attempt without a jig to ensure the base plate stays firmly perpendicular to the cut. I found using a McCullough (1000 Watts less powerful and a sixth of the price) better suited to the latter exercise and without a jig.So this is about horses for courses or you are simply buying a trophy tool.A caveat though. I had expected to use this mainly in a Charnwood router table. Very hard to fit and align without modding the table. I have since read that matching routers to tables is a lottery so consider the Triton table and insert.

Best router on the market
If you are looking for a router to be used with a router table this is the one for you. Easy to install, can be raised and lowered from above the table. The cutters can also be changed from above the table with just one spanner as the spindle automatically locks when it is fully raised. I have owned 3 routers prior to this one and it is by far the best I have had.

The Beast !!!!
This router is amazing. Apart from its power (and it’s Very powerful) I love the dual mode facility that allows you to mount it in a router table and adjust the height from above the table. It also has a spindle lock for 1 handed bit changes. And when the bit is locked, the cover over the power switch is locked so that you can’t accidentally start the router.

Not as good as it appears
This machine is far too heavy to be used handheld and you cant see the bit under all the plastic guard. its designed to be used in a router table but it will not fit any of the ones on the market except the one made for it by triton which is very expensive and not all that good similarly the accessories are expensive and it doesn't fit other brands stuff. The jargon is misleading claiming that the device has two and a half horse power but it maxes out at 21000 rpm . This is about a thousand rpm short of what i would consider adequate. The Ryobi i bought to replace it spins at 29000 rpm and believe the offerings from makita and dewalt are faster still. Buyer Beware
