Simple budget HD Receiver
Simple, easy to set up and works out of the box. This is a no frills Freeview receiver. It has HD channels and works at the full 1080p. It also outputs Dolby multi-channel sound via the HDMI connection which is often broadcast on the HD channels - handy if you use a surround amp or system. The HDMI cable mine came with didn't seem to work but I have plenty of spare ones so this wasn't a problem. The remote is simple to use and relatively small which I like. It has a USB port and an Ethernet port. These ports are only useful for updating the box's firmware and at date of writing there isn't an update out yet. You cannot record from this box - it's view only.Overall for the price this is an excellent product.

Very straightforward, terrific!
Absolutely delighted. The aerial input only stopped working on a 7 year but hardly used otherwise great tv, so now use this device to input to one of the HDMI TV inputs to access BBC1 etc . Very simple setup - plug in HDMI to TV, plug in aerial cable, plug in mains to device. Switch on TV, switch on device, select the HDMI input and follow the very straightforward instructions to scan channels etc. INCLUDED is an HDMI lead and batteries for its remote.Very good quality HDMI to TV, simple channel guide etc.Neat, small unit very easily unobtrusively accommodated. The device remote also operates the TV volume etc so the only need for the TV remote was to switch the TV on or off & to select the HDMI2 input. All with a 2 year guarantee if registering within 30 days of purchase . Highly recommended.

Good value for the price...shame the remote cant turn the TV on and off
With a range of Manhattan Freeview box models to choose from i opted for this, the cheapest and most basic since i only wanted to be able to watch TV in the kitchen. The actual Manhattan T1 box is small and compact - slightly bigger than my Apple TV box and setup was very simple and straightforward. Although updates can be downloaded via an Ethernet cable connection, without one nearby i opted for a download and install via the thumb drive USB connection. Another simple experience via the Manhattan website. Everything is working well with the Freeview box so far and the remote allows control of the usual functions - TV guide, volume, change channels, etc. The one irritating thing, though, is the fact that the Manhattan remote cant be programmed to turn the TV on and off. Annoying to need the TV remote on hand as well as the Manhattan remote purely for this purpose. I read in reviews that Manhattan didn’t include this function in this model to keep down costs! Very lame. It would be such a simple addition and would have made all the difference.

Best of a Bunch.
I have used 3 other units of various brands and this Manhattan is definitely the best of the bunch. The picture is clear all the systems work, no interference lines. The TV list is simple, informative and easy to understand, similar to Sky's menu. Auto description and subtitles are a bonus if you need them also you can connect to the internet for extras. For the price it's a bargain.

Views from a Pc gamer
Bought this to hook up to a 2k gaming monitor.£35 quid for Freeview HD, Where did they cut corners?Pros -All of the main HD channels are presentCons -Splash screen sequence in order....Bright as the sun lightning blue splashscreen --> Manhattan logo --> black screen --> Manhattan logo. I have tested this sequence on different pc monitors all with the same results, and yes a different power source and hdmi was used also. Very annoying if you want to boot it up in a dark room, grab sunglasses...Picture Motion when viewing HD channels has almost a microstutter to them which can be distracting.Any 4:3 programmes the box will not resize the aspect ratio automatically to your 16:9 spect ration unless your TV will do it on auto.Whilst in idle there is a high pitch coil whine (headach Inducing) emitting from the box, this is due to cheap capacitors... Just keep the power lead away from any other electrical wires to keep noise to a minimum. You have to present your robin hood hitting a bulls eye when aiming the remote...and that blue status light when the box is on is distractingly brightNot sure if I will return it but many only bought this because the T3 is unavailable due to a silicone shortage....

Handles HD well; compact box; clear & easy program guide
We brought a 2015 Samsung TV from back with us, having been working overseas for a few years. It could pick up Freeview, but all channels were alphabetical and the program guide was 7 hours behind, so I figured a Freeview box would make life much easier. I read many reviews and went for this one.I tried another Freeview box before buying this one, but that didn't handle HD well, and the picture stuttered. This one (so far) has delivered excellent picture quality. The box itself is discreet and compact, and the remote is clear and logical. The program guide is also well laid out, and with a clean font, making it very easy to use. It's a bit more in price than other Freeview boxes, but it appears worth it.

Finally, a brilliant tv product with some brains behind it
Bought this for my mum to watch Wimbledon in HD (It's my second box). First one had some issues losing channels, but I contacted the Manhattan customer service and they were REALLY helpful in figuring out what was going wrong, going above and beyond walking me through their update which fixed the channels issue and improved some other things as well! Quick to set up and use, everything clear and dead simple. Brilliant little product!!The thing is, make sure you buy direct from Amazon (rather than use PlutoDirect) because Amazon does a way better job of making sure the box comes in a nice amazon box. PlutoDirect reseller simply puts it in a bag so the box (not the product itself) was a little bit smushed at the corners.

Good and works well - not for the young though
Virgin TIVO failed, so switched to Roku stick but still needed that Freeview for my old Plasma TV in the bedroom. Easy to set up, don't really need the manual, appreciate the HD channels via aerial - but you do need a good aerial which I have on a pole on the side of my house - this has little to no glitches. Wired in an ethernet but a bit of a waste of time as does not add anything to functionality. For my 50+ year old ears complete with tinnitus, no issues. However, my children moan whenever they are near it due to a high pitched squeal it emits even when in standby.
