100% garbage. So blunt it can't cut running water. Edited
Don't bother with it. It's garbage. I remember my grandparents having one as a kid and we were always told not to touch it because it was sharp. This product however digs about 5mm into a bean and then the bean gets stuck. I decided to check how sharp it is with my finger. I can easily rub my finger tip up and down on the "blades" with significant force and it won't even scratch. Unfortunately I'm past the 30 day return window as I put it in the drawer as soon as it arrived so I'll have to contact the seller directlyEdit: although I cannot recommend this product, I can recommend the seller, one email to customer services and they resolved my complaint immediately.

Bean Slicer that slices beans with ease.
This high quality ambidextrous designed, white plastic and sharp metal bladed bean slicer, slices beans with a mere waft of either hand. No bean can resist it's cutting power. Keep it away from children or they may no longer be able to pick their nose, and wipe it on your sleeve. No other bean slicer is ambidextrous, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, a shameful state of affairs. Take care, it is very sharp. If you do accidentally cut yourself, please write random numbers in blood on a fresh piece of white paper. You can use these numbers for next weeks lottery. If you read this far, you may believe I am taking the proverbial. You might be correct. Stay safe.

Not like they used to be
I have to say this bean slicer isn’t very good and I don’t like posting negative reviews, but this is really fit for one place only, the rubbish bin. When I was a kid, my parents had one of these and it was razor sharp, you could run beans through in no time. this one just makes an absolute mess of the beans and there’s no cutting edge at all. We ended up slicing the beans by hand with a knife instead.

Not very sharp
This looked exactly like my old one which I have had for years but unfortunately it didn't slice very well, you had to pull the beans really hard to get them through, on the plus side very prompt delivery and low price

Blunt, blunt, blunt.
This is certainly an incredibly cheap product and I'm a believer that you get what you pay for, but you also expect the product to be able to slice beans if it is sold as a bean slicer. I have owned and used this style of slicer/cutter before (but not this manufacturer). I like the fact that it is wider than other styles, allowing for the width nuances that a home grower sometimes has with their bean crop. I had fresh, crisp, homegrown runner beans and this didn't work at all. I tried repeatedly and then gave up. Shame!

Useless - does not slice beans
Product does not just work badly - it does not work. Blades are SO blunt that even a standard bean does not get cut. WE went for the cheapest option expecting *some* functionality. We now have a bean slicer that does not slice beans. Terrible.
