It worked great on both1.5 &5mm pellets.You will need to experiment to see how many revolutions to set for each one.Easy to set up. Easy to refill.Very happy with it.

The first one i received was damaged, but was replaced within 3 days. But the use of the product was simple to use and setup the feeding options are much better as I looked at the small one by the same company and opted for the larger on with 2 chambers. I Would definitely recommend, if you are going away for more than a few weeks.

Item was keenly priced and promptly delivered. The product itself works very much better than the more basic Eheim feeder known as "every day" which I have used for years. This model delivers almost exactly the same quantities of food every time and will dispense any form of dry food without the blocking certain foods caused in the cheaper version

Bought this to replace the single eheim feeder and think I should have saved my money. I’ve tried flake which won’t come out other than an occasional flake. I’ve tried full large flakes and also breaking it up. I tried pellets instead and using the lowest setting for feeding the portion is way too much fir my tank. Bottom line is this is no use to feed my tank with any reliability.

Great product, keeps the fish all well fed with pellets of 2 types and sizes for a mixed aquarium. No good for flake it breaks it up, use the single Eheim unit for flake.

Work well, feeds for around 4 weeks.

Very good with pellets, but poor with flakes.

Purchased this automatic feeder for a 5 day trip away from home. I needed one with two barrels to hold two different foods. Honestly would have appreciated a third barrel as I feed a good selection of foods to my different needs fish. My tank is a 140 gallon and the settings allowed me adjust the amount of each food. Having only 1 bn pleco, 8 clown loaches, 6 Congo tetras and 2 dwarf gouramis (all babies and young juveniles) I found keeping the settings at the lowest amount (smallest amount feeding) worked good. I had shrimp pellets in one barrel and flakes in the other.Tip: test this device out on a plate for a couple days (I did) so u can be sure of the amounts it’s giving and know if u need to adjust the amount on either barrels. You can also save the food that way.The set up instructions were maybe a little hard to understand, perseverance and a little hope help tho. The instructions labeled the middle feeding as “random feeding” which threw me off. I just ignored the word “random” and believe the device has the ability to feed your fish up to 3 times a day. I only do two times a day so this was a bonus feature.All in all, this device worked well through testing days over a plate to being put to use to feed my fish for a 5 day stretch. I believe it just keeps going unless you take the batteries out. So I could feed them for a longer period than 5 days. Just depends on how much food u fill into it and how much u feed per feeding.One thing I didn’t think of it as my bn pleco needs algae wafers. And this does not work for those. I didn’t try. Maybe if you crunched up into pieces the wafers? But then I would need that third barrel.All in all, good price compared to the lacking varieties in petland or petsmart. Good product, it worked, it didn’t fall in (I used the Velcro which was scary bc it tips the device a bit a looks like it could fall in), it didn’t crap out, fairly easy to set up. Love that it came with batteries. And I did not have trouble with the shrimp pellets and the turning mechanisms inside device. Worked well.

Review of the “Eheim TWIN Automatic Feeder, Battery Operation”The auto feeder in use on the large aquarium had stopped working some time ago and it needed replaced before we went on vacation. The denizens are bottom feeders and some Cichlids so I was thinking about purchasing two feeders - one for bottom food and another for Cichlid food. While searching I happened upon this twin feeder which was getting good reviews so I ordered one.It arrived in a timely fashion and was packaged well by the sender. The unit packaging was well done and kudos to Eheim for not overdoing it with a lot of foam or plastic. It even came with a set of Duracell dry cells.The feeder is a large unit with a large LCD panel and four buttons on the back side and a sort of ramp with a cover at the top of the front side. The battery compartment is a removable unit that snaps onto the bottom of feeder. The feeder hoppers are large with large openings for easy filling with hinged covers. The hoppers are a smoke-grey plastic and you can easily see how much food is left. The business end is a pair of augers with a hinged lid that swings up as either auger runs then snaps down keeping out moisture and preserving the food. The covers, augers, and battery compartment are all removable to facilitate cleaning.This thing is big, and it’s tall; the food output is some inches above the base. That’s good because it’s away from moisture and splashing, but because it is high it requires a pretty large hole in the aquarium cover. Initially I set the feeder on the right side cover and slid the other cover to the left a couple of inches. This was a temporary measure until I could come up with a permanent set up. I took a page out of another reviewer’s book and cut away the top and bottom of a large flavored water container and used that as a funnel that’s passed through a large oblong hole cut into the plexiglass cover behind the light. (Two overlapping 2-inch holes were cut side by side and the points filed away.) This does seem to work pretty well - food goes in, aggressive fish splashing while feeding do not cause problems and fish can’t jump out.Programming is easy, though not completely intuitive. The instructions are delivered in over a dozen languages, I was using the British English version and found them (mostly) clear. Each auger can be programmed to run up to three times in a day and can turn from 1 to 9 times. You can set a time or select random for each run. Each auger can also be set to pause on the seventh day. You start by programming the current time, and then program the left auger - riffling through the three runs in turn - first setting the time to run and then the number of turns for that run. If you select a zero number of turns on a program it skips to the end for that auger and asks (by flashing the pause symbol) if you want your fish to fast on the seventh day. When the left auger is programmed you repeat the process for the right one. Once programmed, you can select any one of your programs and hit the enter button to manually run that program immediately.It seems to handle a pretty wide variety of food; I’ve dispensed both small and large round pellets, crisps, and flakes. Flakes do not lend themselves to auto feeders, they tend to be staticky and therefore stick to the plastic parts, and the lack of uniformity causes them to clog. This feeder handles flakes pretty well - better than the previous feeder, but I still prefer to use Tetra Crisps at this point because they flow through and meter more consistently than flakes.I’ve been using this feeder for about six months now and find that though it’s big and a little noisy when it runs, it delivers food to the bottom and middle feeders with no issues. The fish “hear” it running and know that food is coming. They also seem to be cognizant of the schedule and come out of hiding just before it delivers. The battery indicator still shows the cells are full - I’m only spinning the augers about five times total per day, though. It was a bit of a challenge to adapt to the aquarium but well worth the effort; it’s quite versatile and once going is easy to keep filled. I had no reservations about leaving it in charge for two weeks while we were away. It is far more reliable and in my opinion better at delivery than the spinning hopper feeders I’ve used in the past.I'm tempted to allow four stars because of the size and the difficulty that causes in getting set up, but in all honesty it does what is promised and is well worth the effort and so five then.

Das ist mein 4 Futterspender und der zweite von Eheim.Ich füttere mit 2mm Granulat ein Becken 180l mit 30 Fischen. Die zwei Futterkammern muss ich alle 10 bis 14 Tage auffüllen.Positiv:Die Fütterungszeiten (4) sind super flexibel einstellbar. Die Futter menge wird durch eine Spindel ins Becken gedrückt. Die Kappe schützt gut vor Wasserdampf weshalb auch kein Futter schimmelt.Beide von einander getrennten Futtertrakte sind individuell einstellbar mit Futter, Zeit und Menge.Batteriebetrieb sichert gegen Stromausfall und Fütterungsausfall bei langer Abwesenheit.Negativ:Die Spindel muss eine komplette Drehung machen. Da ich zweimal am Tag mit je einer Umdrehung Füttere ist mir das relativ egal. Jedoch wenn jemand ein sehr kleines Becken hat kann das zuviel Futter sein.

Es muy útil para programar la alimentación semanal de los peces, el sistema de espiral es mucho más seguro y eficiente que el sistema de tambor-rotación de la mayoría de alimentadores automáticos, ya que te aseguras que no le va a saltar la tapa y caer toda la comida de golpe, además se abre y cierra la exclusa automáticamente protegiéndose de la humedad.Ojo, hay que tener en cuenta que si lo llenas entero saldrá mucha comida así que hay que tener cuidado si tu acuario es pequeño.Como es mi caso, yo lo que hago en lugar de llenarlo entero es colocar en cada vuelta de espiral la cantidad que quiero que suelte cada día, mezclando distintos alimentos sin problemas, e incluso intercalando si por ejemplo quiero que me suelte una pastilla de fondo cada 3 días, lo programo para una vuelta y esa es la cantidad exacta que cae en el acuario, lo recargo a modo de pastillero una vez a la semana y esta funcionando perfectamente, controlo la cantidad exacta que cae.
