Triple bill of Disney animated features following a naive and curious lion cub as he struggles to find his place in nature's great 'circle of life'. In 'The Lion King' (1994) Simba (voice of Jonathan Taylor Thomas/Matthew Broderick) is excited about being king of the pride but is forced into exile by his evil and greedy uncle, Scar (Jeremy Irons), who wants to claim the throne for himself. Away from his family, Simba meets a meerkat named Timon (Nathan Lane) and a warthog named Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella). With the help of his new friends he overcomes great fear and adversity to defeat Scar and take his rightful place as ruler of the Pride Lands. In 'The Lion King 2 - Simba's Pride' (1998) Simba's wilful daughter, Kiara (Neve Campbell), escapes her inept babysitters, Timon and Pumbaa, and goes in search of adventure. She wanders into the forbidden Outlands, where she encounters Kovu (Jason Marsden), a young cub who is following in the evil Scar's pawprints. However, Simba is forced to make difficult decisions when Kiara and Kovu fall in love. In 'The Lion King 3 - Hakuna Matata' (2004) the original story is told from Timon and Pumbaa's perspective. When Timon decides to explore the world, it's not long before his path crosses with that of Pumbaa and they become good friends. But their plan to find a new home is forgotten when they come across a young cub called Simba and help him save the Serengeti..

The way it was meant to be viewed!
I was a little weary about purchasing the Lion King again, as I'd bought it when it was first released on DVD and I was distraught by the new added song. They made it so hard to find the original version of the dvd as well. I spend an hour with my friends one time trying to find it!I decided to get the film on blueray, as I am a massive fan and I kept my fingers crossed. My wish had been granted! Not only can I now watch my favourite film in stunning blueray, but they removed that god awful song from the normal play! I was jumping up and down on my sofa with glee! Disney finally got the hint, don't mess with the classics!I was surprised when I heard they were doing all three films in a blueray boxset. I was only expecting to be able to get the first film on blueray. But I grabbed this box and I have to say, all of the films look great on blueray. If you like all three, it is worth purchasing. Also for Disney Movie Reward members, it's worth purchasing new to grab the points. I got my code inside which gave me a massive 450 points towards a reward. That's the regular 150 points per film! YOu'll already be halfway to getting a free dvd!

The Lion King 1-3
The Lion King:Never seen The Lion King before buying the DVD, only really wanted to watch it as friends kept nagging me to.But really glad i took the chance on it, while yes, it does start pretty sad and at one point i even shed a tear, the second half is so funny, so heart-warming, so uplifting, that it more than makes up for the start of the film. Will I be watching it again? Yes, 100%.-----The Lion King 2:Didn't enjoy the 2nd Lion King as much as the first, and truth be told I got bored in places. Please don't get me wrong, i'm not saying it's bad, or a awful film, it's just not as good as the first, for me.The film centers on Simba and Nala's daughter Kiara, who falls in love with Kovu, a male rogue lion from a banished pride that was once loyal to Simba's evil uncle, Scar. Separated by Simba's prejudice against the banished pride and a vindictive plot planned by Kovu's mother, Kiara and Kovu struggle to unite their estranged prides and be together. Most of the original cast returned to their roles from the first film, apart from Rowan Atkinson, who was replaced by Edward Hibbert as the voice of Zazu for this film and its prequel.----The Lion King 3Out of the 3 Lion King films this one is by far my favourite, just because I totally love Timon and Pumbaa, but then again, who doesn't.Hakuna Matata is the 3rd & final installment in the Lion King trilogy. The film is a prequel/parallel to The Lion King, and focuses on Timon and Pumbaa before, during and after the events of the original film. The original cast returns to re-voice their parts, save for a few exceptions: Rowan Atkinson (the original voice of Zazu) was replaced by Edward Hibbert; Jonathan Taylor Thomas (originally Young Simba) is replaced by Matt Weinberg; and James Earl Jones and Jeremy Irons (Mufasa and Scar respectively) did not reprise their roles.

Superb! Worth it's weight in ermm mashmellows
This is an excellent box set and although it's a dvd box set rather than the bluray, it's worth the money... most bluray players will upscale quite well (obviously not as clear as a bluray, but darn close!).Watching Lion King (movie 1) is fantastic and for a small price you get all three editions... perfect for you, your mum and the kids! (what more can I say?!)Box itself is rather special, although cardboard it has a lovely well built construction and design. (slides half way down the box).3 x disks (dvd) for the price of 1 (bluray), and don't forget this cartoon movie was created before blurays came about.Enjoy!

Amazing pack
I love The Lion King and when I found on Amazon that you could by all 3 films in a pack I was so happy. I had never seen the 3rd on before so I was glad that I had found it in a pack to buy and watch it. I have even taken them to work with me and had the children at work watching them which has then meant them asking their parents for all 3 films. I would advise anyone to buy the triple pack from off Amazon as in HMV they are selling it for more.
