Ampulla C1 rear tail light - A safety must for all road cyclists
I've fairly recently gotten back into cycling as part of an overall fitness plan, and part of this involves cycling on the road... so, I saw these and thought, I'll give them a go!Included in the package is -- The tail light itself- Seat post mount- Remote control- 2x rubber mounts- 2x thumbscrews- 1x shorter screw to affix the light to the seat post mount- 2x additional screws- User manual- Thank you card- Micro USB charger cable- A selection of zip ties for additional security (I didn't need to use mine)The units themselves are very, very easy to fit, simply screw on the seat post to the bike, attach the light to this and then attach the remote to your handlebars. Both the remote AND tail light are charged via USB - my unit when arrived had a reasonable charge on it, but a full charge of the tail light is 3.5 hours. It's also recommended to charge the remote too before use!Once charged, the tail light is turned on using the button on the light itself. If you press it briefly when off it shows you the level of charge - which is useful to know! To turn it on fully you will need to hold the button in for a second until the light turns on.At this point, you can then use the remote control to activate its various functions, which are:-- Solid and strobe effect of the main light- left and right indicators- Ground effect laser lines (this can be solid, blinking or off)- Brake light - note this is NOT linked to the brakes on your bike, you'll need to press the button on the remote to activate this!- On off button - again - NOTE this only turns the remote on & off. It does turn the light off too BUT it just puts the tail light to sleep - to turn the light off fully use the button on the light itself!I've seen reviews here stating that it's awkward to charge as its USB - and so you'd need to take off the units to charge them. An alternate solution I've found is to attach a USB power bank, as this will do the job with the lights in place on the bike!In use, the control is easy to operate,I have mine placed more or less next to my handlebars, so I don't have to take my hands off of them to use this control! The units are IPX4 waterproof - just to clarify, as I've seen some reviews with regards this, this is a light rain certification... so I'd say it's probably not recommended if its really raining hard (like it does in the UK from time to time)I have my unit attached to a BTwin Tilt 120 folding bike, and can confirm it works really well.Would I recommend this? Definitely!

Bright and easy to use
I bought this to complement a dahon folding bike and because I’m not very good at sticking my hands out for directions without getting very wobbly. The latter will improve I’m sure with more riding time but this device makes it redundant now I have indicators. The two part device is clamped to the seat post for the lights and the handlebars for the remote and it’s very comfortable to use as the layout makes sense.Think of it like a games controller, up for hazard lights, down for laser lines, further down for brake lights and finally left and right for indicators. The hazard light has three modes: on, flashing and off, as I’m not going to be using the bike in dark conditions (unless I have to) the laser and hazard lights will mostly be turned off.The bike already has a rear light for this purpose but the indicators and brake lights are excellent. The indicators are easy to use and once you get used to turning them off once the manoeuvre has been performed will feel like second nature. For future improvements it would be a good idea to have an audible alarm to let you know that you are using them much like a cars clicking noise.I really like the brake light as well and I can comfortably grab a handful of rear brake and still press the button if I’m going to be making a sudden stop or slow down. It’s also the reason I’m not going to be using the hazard lights much as it’ll detract from the brake light somewhat.I’ve read some complaints about the difficulty in detaching the units as they don’t have quick release mechanisms, all I can say is that it would have been nice but as one person says it also makes them easier to steal so it’s all swings and roundabouts. All in all I really like this product and recommend it for all of its uses.

Product is great... until it refuses to charge. Don't Buy.
Bought this after buying my first road bike. I was so excited to get on the road! Product worked really well for the first few weeks and i'd never felt safer and more visable. Then i had to charge it... completely dead. Nothing. Not responding, lighting up or anything. I have tried 3 plugs, 5 cables and a lot of patience. The seller has no facility to get in touch so now im left with a faulty product and no method of getting in touch. I will stand by this statement - Dont buy this product.

STUNNING PRODUCT.
Actually based in UK, London, I have asked my Father to send me the one I did already purchased time ago for my front Mtb in Italy. He forgot the remote, I was just usind the light with its manual activation button. Cool. The problem I went through its been that after a full year and more of usage of this tail light which is very well designed and has a stunning concept in the project study has been made from the Ampulla Design team, is in the materials. The little plastic connection that holds the light itself to clipping into the rail of the saddle tube hold ring, literally cracked up on a touch (most likely the right combination of unnecessary strength and movement), leaving me with an useless product, in a second. I think that piece and if possible the whole holding part of the light should be produced in league (alloy for example) in order to void a problem like this that you wont have. Not only thinking about the money you have spent to purchase, but of a very great concept and product that you won't stop using neither for a minute. It's cool. So Cool. Forgot to say, I have tried to text to the company to be posted for a substitute piece, but nothing, the mail has been posted back to me with the message "Failure delivery...." maybe wrong address... I don't know. Fact is that I am now personally going to 3D scan the piece to make a metal/league reproduction of it and void the problem at all from now on.
