Horstmann ECONOMY7 Immersion, Multi

Came quickly a day earlier than I expected so i missed the delivery, but that wasnt really a big issue. Once i opened the box it was well packaged and everything was there. I was abit worried about installing it myself but it was so easy and straightforward i have no worries if i needed to do it again. Great product and well worth the price.

This worked well and was easy to install (mine replaced a Redring). However I have since replaced it with an electronic one as I did not like this one having to be on for 4.5 hours minimum each night - it is not possible to programme it for less, and it is also fiddly if your electricity supplier changes your e7 hours to different times when the clocks change. It is a good quality item, hence 4 stars, it’s just that the electronic digital version met my needs better.

Easy to install with good instructions booklet

In two words, "Spot on!" It replaced a 25 year old Horstmann unit which had developed a fault in the battery charging circuit. The new module was a 'drop in' replacement for the old, I didn't even have to change the base box. The new one fitted perfectly, including the connectors and even the fixing screws.

This was an updated model of what I already had, it was so easy to install, my son installed mine and straight away we tried it out and it worked perfectly. I think it's great value for my money.

This is advertised as Horstmann but is their own brand “Secure”. Obviously this is a breach of the Trade Descripions Act. That said, when you get over the shock of being duped, it’s absolutely identical to the failed Horstmann I bought it to replace and cheaper! Replacing it was easy. Set the clock. Yes, 4.5 hours is the min period but this isn't an issue as most tanks will heat up in 3 hours and then stay hot. The thermostat will stop any further electrical consumption. Just isolate the box, take out the front box screws, check no current is flowing into box with mains tester or multi-tester. Then pull off the connectors from the old unit, plug in the new ones, screw up the front screws and job done. It’s that easy. Description needs to change to Horstmann replacement rather than Horstmann and picture needs to be a Secure unit. One star lost for misrepresentation!

Great product. Easy to Install. Had another timer setup before that was slightly easier to use but the installation was a pain and I had replaced that timer 3 times in 4 months. Really happy with this timer so far
