I've been trying, for months, to get this figure - eventually I found it locally but my regular shop pulled out last minute leaving me pretty bummed out.When I saw a listing for the figure here, I decided to risk it all in a last ditch attempt and was pleasantly surprised to find that not only was it significantly cheaper (even with the currency conversion and overseas postage) but it also arrived at, what felt like, the speed of light. It feels like I blinked and it was at my door which completely blew my mind. I'm use to having to wait weeks to months for things.The box was in perfect condition, not a dent on it, you'd have no idea it traveled across the world.The figure itself is equally, if not more, perfect and sits pride of place on my shelf.As far as sturdiness goes, I'm not about to throw it against a wall to see which one wins nor am I going to apply excessive force on it to see how long it takes before limbs start snapping off but I will say, it's as solid as you'd expect a figure to be. You can hold it without having to worry but I would recommend you put it somewhere safe where it's never likely to face extreme impacts, so to speak. It's very much for display only.As far as gifting, I would recommend if you or the person you're buying for is a huge Trafalgar fan and has an interest in figures, you or they will definitely appreciate what this figure has to offer.The attack effect is beautiful and cleverly done to support Trafalgar's pose without it being too in your face that it's a structural support.The base of the attack effect is somewhat transparent underneath so if you wanted to put a light there to add a glow to it, you probably could.The pose is dynamic and looks fantastic no matter what angle you decide to view it at.The money shot for me though, when it's time to show him off, is if you turn him towards you at a angle so then you can see the face and overall form sculpts without sacrificing anything.With that in mind, the likeness is on point and the form definition (muscles, clothes ect) is detailed but subtle at the same time, with different lighting environments, you can see various details pop out like the knuckles on his hands or the folds of his clothes, for example.The paint job is awesome too. It wasn't painted with any source of lighting in mind though, just simple hue shifts so no matter where or how you display him whether it's with your own lighting set up or just natural light, it doesn't clash. I think it's also worth noting that different paints were used to show different materials (his shoes are glossy while his clothes are matte).He's a work of art but my favorite features of all, which is probably going to sound underwhelming after all my blabbing, is that the figure is a decent size and LIGHT.He doesn't have much weight to him at all and for someone like me who has very limited space and shelves that can't handle a lot of weight, I'm over the moon that I can have something this well made at this size and not have to worry about whether I can actually display him or not (this especially so when I'm waiting on the Eustass Kid figure to pair with him).I don't really have any complaints at all.If I really have to press myself for some the only flaws I can think of is maybe you might not like that his cloak is fairly flat, the indication of fur is there but it doesn't really stick out. For me, this is more a pro than a con because it makes dusting so much easier but for you or whoever you might be buying for, it might be a con.You can also see some of the seams where the figure was put together but that's only if you're really staring hard and would probably only be an issue if you look at him in a microscope every time.On my figure, the base isn't completely level, there's a very slight wobble if I move him but that might just be mine as not every figure is exactly alike and he stands fine, the display isn't effected and if it is, it's so insignificant that I can't see it.Overall, these are very petty nitpicks that I've just done for the sake of balance and consideration.Either way, if you decide to go for it, I hope you're shopping experience is as good as mine was.Happy shopping!
