My baby loves it!
I bought it when my baby was 5 months old, and it lasted us for more than 6 months. We were adding a teaspoon to soup every day, and the taste was soft, which is why the baby liked it very much. great source of healthy fat. Will buy it again!

Light tasting, high quality EVOO.
The Olive Oil for Baby Food - Olizzi Baby Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Late Harvest Cold Pressed - USDA Organic Certified - Delicious and Smooth Taste - Cooking Oil for Baby Food - 16.9 FL Oz (500ml) arrived and I tested it this evening at dinner. First, this olive oil is very light, not fruity as advertised. My wife has exceptionally sensitive taste and she thought this olive oil was bland, almost tasteless. It is not likely that babies will notice it if it is added to their food. I poured a bit of the olive oil on my evening salad and was pleasantly surprised. All the flavors of the salad were improved by this very light EVOO. So, yes, it can be used with babies, but many adults are also going to like this olive oil. Most readers of this review know that EVOO is highly recommended to add to our diet for our health and well-being. The ad for this oil tells us that “Olizzi Baby Organic is handpicked, late harvested and cold pressed. It is a non-blended, single-variety produce from Domat type olives. Olizzi is filtered to have healthier shelf life. The Free Fatty Acidity (FFA) level is 0.35% at the time of bottling.” Perhaps this explains the high cost of this product.Bottom line: This EVOO should please both babies and adults alike. Recommended.

Mild and low bitterness olive oil: Late harvest = less polyphenols = less healthy
Olive oil for babies... What that means is basically as mild tasting an olive oil as possible. This is a late harvest olive oil, which means more it is more buttery, with less bitter and peppery notes - and as a result, less polyphenols. The polyphenols are likely responsible for 99% of the health benefits of olive oil, so by going for a low polyphenol olive oil, you are really just reducing the healthiness of your olive oil. That being said, this olive oil still has some advantages:1) It's very fresh olive oil, from the recent 2021 harvest.2) It's good quality, less than 0.35% acidity.3) It's single varietal, made exclusively from Domat olives.4) It's very tasty. The flavor is fresh and it has nice fruitiness. I didn't detect any defects or hints of rancidity. There was still a slight hint of bitterness and pepper, which is a good thing. It would be ideal for picky eaters.Thoughts:Assuming you are trying to share the health benefits of olive oil with your baby, you might be better off going with a higher polyphenol olive oil. Earlier harvest olive oils are more bitter and more peppery - which means they have much higher phenolic contents. The phenolic content is what gives the health benefits of olive oil, and more is almost always better (in terms of health, not in terms of flavor). So if baby isn't a picky eater and can handle a more bitter and peppery early harvest olive oil, that is definitely the best option. But if they are a picky eater, and refuse bitter and spicier olive oils - this late harvest olive oil is mild, tasty, and very easy to eat. There are definitely still some health benefits with a fresh olive oil like this one even if it is late harvest, just be aware that late harvest oils are generally much less healthy than early harvest.

late harvest EVOO (less polyphenols and mild flavor), product of Turkey
This Olizzi Baby Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is what it purports to be, a mild and fruity late harvest EVOO, without a lot of peppery kick but also no bitter and pungent notes. It's is made from a blend of olives (unspecified varietals) and a product of Turkey. Rather than reserving it as a dipping or finishing oil, I'll probably use it as a cooking oil. This EVOO is fine for kids' food, but not the only EVOO that will do for that purpose. Usually, children can have olive oil once they are 6 months old, and once mixed into food, even a peppery olive oil can barely be detected.Late harvest EVOOs have less flavor and also less health benefits than early harvest EVOOs.Late harvest olive oils are also more golden than green in color (chlorophyll content declines over the harvest season), and the polyphenol levels are lower as well. Flavor-wise, late harvest EVOOs are less peppery, more floral and less pungent. They also usually have a shorter shelf life than early harvest olive oils. They have their place, but a lot EVOO enthusiasts prefer early harvest. So, saying this as "suitable for babies" seems like a gimmick, or at least a new angle. Simply put, this is a late harvest olive oil being re-marketed.It comes in an opaque white glass bottle to protect the olive oil from light. The best by date is clearly marked on the bottle's label. The year of harvest is also indicated.

USDA Certified Extra Virgin Olive Oil Late Harvest for Baby 16.9 oz
A product of Turkey this late harvest USDA certified organic extra virgin olive oil is designated for use in baby food but is tasty enough for all. Characteristics of late harvest olive oils include a less bitter taste and a milder scent both of which may be more pleasing for baby. Reflecting the more mature olives the color is a golden yellow rather than one with a greenish hue and this olive oil matches both the color and flavor of the late harvest variety. Although the flavor is somewhat lighter it still possesses the expected grassy, slightly peppery notes with the tiniest bit of bitterness at the finish. The 16.9 ounce bottle has an opaque coating which helps protect the product from light which can accelerate deterioration of the oil and the cap has a perforated ring so it is obvious it has been opened ensuring it arrives untouched and fresh. The neck of the bottle has a plastic insert to provide some precision when pouring to avoid waste. To estimate shelf-life at the time of this review in June 2022 the Best By date is 22 months in the future but dates may vary. Delicious.
