Buy it. Yes it's expensive. But its bloody good. You won't regret it.
This isn't just a ratchet. This is an excellent example of beautiful and functional design. Prestigious American tool manufacturers don't even come close. The two part moulded handle provides excellent grip in greasy situations. For a 1/4 ratchet, it is relatively small. But this is good. I can't recommend this tool enough. Buy it. You won't regret it. This is a buy it once in your life tool.

Not what they used to be
I bought one of these to replace the non quick release version I had for years. It was working well until I dropped it, the release mechanism flew out and then I was unable to reassemble it, by design I suspectGood ratchets let down by the dodgy socket release.

Very expensive for a DIY tool

fantastic quality
I've always wanted to personally compare the Stahlwille ratchet with the Snap on Dual 80, so when Amazon ran a special price for the 435 QRN, I pulled the trigger, and couldn't be happier with the product. To be perfectly honest, I don't own a Snap On 3/8 dual 80 ratchet, however, I do own a Bahco #7750 which has the same ratcheting mechanism as Snap On (since Bahco is a Snap On company). I like the Bahco ratchet very much and find it to be very smooth with very little backdrag. That said, I find there is some play in the anvil which may not be present in a genuine Snap On ratchet. The Stahlwille has almost no play at all in the anvil, and the action of the ratchet is even smoother with even less backdrag than the Bahco. I will say, however, that although I find the Stahlwille handle comfortable, the Bahco handle is the most comfortable of all the ratchets I own (Hazet 1/2 HP, Proto 1/2 flex head (Facom/USAG), Craftsman RHFT 1/2, Wright 3/8 RH, Carlyle 3/8 flex head, Craftsman RHFT 3/8, and Gearwrench 3/8 bent handle flex head + 5 additional 1/4 drives including two Snap On, 1 Bahco, 1 Crafsman RHFT, and 1 Pittsburg Pro flex head.) Seems you just can't beat the Germans in producing the highest quality available. I also like the more matte finish chrome the Germans use over the highly polished chrome everyone else uses, as it appears to show scratches less. So, to sum up, I'd say, if you get the opportunity to purchase one of these ratchets you should go for it. You won't be disappointed.
