A good budget monitor for photograph editing; easy to swap to a higher spec Dell stand; has some IPS glow issues.
I bought this to replace my seven years old Dell Ultrasharp 22 inch IPS monitor which was showing signs of failure, so although it has a larger screen and resolution, in some ways this is a downgrade as it comes without a built-in USB hub and only has a basic fixed height stand. The first panel I received was substandard; it had strong colour variation from one side to the other and really bad "IPS glow" issues. Amazon sent me a replacement and this second panel is much, much better. Colour and brightness uniformity is now very good, and though there's still a bit of IPS glow in the bottom left corner it's not enough to bother me. I'm using the monitor in "Multimedia" mode which according to all the reviews I've seen gives close to an ideal white level. Calibration with my Datacolor Spyder Pro made only slight changes, so factory settings were pretty close. Text is sharp and easy to read, contrast is good with strong blacks, colours are vibrant and there are no dead pixels that I can see. The thin frameand glossy but not overly reflective screen makes the overall package very appealing.Since this monitor uses the standard Dell square stand mount (unlike the newer version of this model), I've swapped the tilt-only stand that comes in the box for a height-adjustable tilt and swivel version from a higher-end Dell monitor. I only paid a tenner for for this new stand; seemingly businesses often buy high end Dell monitors in bulk, use their own custom stands and sell off the Dell stands cheaply. Google is your friend if you want to do the same!I'll be using the monitor mainly for photo editing and browsing, but I tried playing the latest Doom on it too and it looked great, even though I had to play at a lower res so that my graphics card could handle it.Bottom line: when you get a good example of this monitor it's great value.

Decent mid-market monitor
Screen quality is good, although the screen is very glossy so there'll definitely be reflections if using near a light source/window. The stand unfortunately doesn't allow for rotating the screen or adjusting the height, but you can tilt it more than you should need to. The base of the stand is also quite big compared to other monitors, so do keep that in mind. On the plus side, the bezels are hardly even there which makes for an incredibly classy design, although the monitor will wobble uncontrollably when operating the touch sensitive buttons unless you hold the back of the monitor whilst doing so. Sadly I was disappointed by the built-in speakers, and whilst they're okay I wanted something better and so ill be switching to a HP Envy 24 monitor instead. This Dell monitor is good for the price though (£155 when I purchased), and it includes a HDMI cable which'll save the cost of having to buy one separately which other monitors may require you to do.

Perfect
The monitor is exactly what I expected. The view angle is extremely wide, in fact, I bought two and I'm using them in landscape mode rotated clock wise and ccw without a single problem. I had to reduce the brightness of the screens to 10%, because the 75% they came with by default, was way too much for my eyes to stare at for 8 hours of work. Glossy screen, but didn't notice any real difference with the matte monitor it has replaced. I wouldn't use the internal speaker for a party but if you need it for the PC alerts it will work pretty well. I'm a bit afraid of the capacitive buttons it has on the extremely thin edges (woah!) to control de settings and power the monitor on, I believe it is just a matter of getting used to, but, I honestly prefer phisical buttons. Great price, great monitors, great value.

Failed - Dell S2415H Full HD LED PC Monitor, 24 inch - Black
When I received the item, I was delighted with it. The monitor was excellent - easy to set up, great picture with excellent colour and clarity, just what I wanted.I was extremely disappointed when within a week that the monitor suddenly stopped working. Having checked that it wasn't something obvious, I contacted Amazon who forwarded a message to the seller. I also contacted the seller who said that I needed to return the item to them for repair or replacement and was promised that as soon as they checked it out, I would be told the problem with the monitor.A week after the seller received the returned item, I received an email from Amazon stating that I was being refunded as the seller did not have the item in stock. I followed this up immediately with the seller (at 21 December) and asked what was the problem with the monitor. The reason the monitor failed was a problem with the backlight which they said could be repaired but it was likely Dell would just replace it. I was told that a replacement could take up to 28 days.I have now reordered the item with another seller on Amazon.

Good IPS but glossy screen
Not a bad monitor for the price, it's crisp but the screen is quite glossy so may reflect if your lighting environment happens to be in the wrong place.Update Feb 2018 - occasionally the screen flickers when the screen is predominately showing one colour. It's not a warm up issue. You can switch a window you are in and it stops, go back to the original screen and it flickers. It doe not happen often but you got to think Dell can do better so would avoid.

Think this is a good monitor but I haven't worked it out yet
Only average at this point as it has only been in use a day. Have not yet managed to adjust the resolution to suit a computer image as opposed to a widescreen film so I have two wide black panels down either side of the desktop. Workable with but annoying and it means that I don't have more space which is what I wanted. No benefit from widescreen at all as I don't often watch movies on it but I can't work out what to do. Running XP so maybe that is the problem - driver? Anyone know?
