Silverline CB40 Adjustable Basin Wrench, 280 mm

Having never used one of these before I was slightly confused by the mechanism. To figure it out, put it on your finger and twist the end. You'll feel which way it bites and that's the way you turn it. I used this to get underneath a basin and change two taps and without it I'd have never done the job. As a complete novice DIY'er this made the job a piece of cake to both get the original bolts undone and the new ones tightened. The price is a little high for something you likely won't use that often but it's a good addition to the toolkit for those tight space bolts. Very pleased with it

Good tool for reaching hard to get to areas, good quality and sturdy

One of our bathroom taps worked itself loose a few years ago, could I tighten it up with one of my spanners or adjustable, no way! It was an absolute pig to get to! I had to get a plumber out in the end, he had one of these funny looking wrench's and he was done in no time. The other tap has decided to work itself loose now, this time I decided to buy that tool which cost me nothing and I was done in minutes. It's an essential item in my tool box and well worth what I paid. Honestly I can't recommend this wrench enough.

Would of finished the job i started it with (replacing 2 bathroom sink taps) but was very fiddly and slipped alot so used a better borrowed one to finish the job.

I had cold and hot tap separately in my bathroom like UK standard, gosh! this was painful. So I decided to install a mixer tap but don't want pay £50 quids for labour. Now the sink has some interesting bolt that can not be taken out by traditional wrench or even by the universal 360 wrench. But this is a magic tool for that. The head moves horizontally and the handle at the bottom makes it a breeze to take the bolts out from the top of the sink beneath it. Definitely recommend having one, it even works on broken bolts and take them out very easily.

Great bit of kit a must for any toolbox, this fits most kitchen tap and bath tap nuts, with jaws that are spring loaded and clamp on to nuts, even if you can't see them. You can, however, feel this occur and as such this bit of kit is ideal for confined spaces or working blindly. Only small issue was that the t-bar at the top bent when undoing some really stuck on taps - Can't expect much else really though, they've got some serious strength otherwise.

I needed to tighten a bath tap to which I had very limited access owing to the proximity of the bathroom wall so this wrench was the ideal solution. It's probably not an item that I will use frequently but the task would have been impossible without it and for the price it was money well spent. The wrench itself is robustly made and is equally suitable for tightening as well as loosening tap nuts. It can be a little fiddly to correctly locate it on the nut but once in place it is quick and easy to use.

Not fit for purpose Bought to tighten 1 bathroom tap on a standard bathroom sink. I didnt expect particularly good quality for the price. But i only need it for 1 nut. The metal on the claw is to thick, not possible to fit In. Even if it did fit, it would not be possible to tighten adequately as the sliding bar is not long enough to provide adequate torque by hand. Amazons return policy makes it not worth returning. So in to the bucket it goes, Complete waste of money!! A prime example of buy decent or buy twice.

Wer kennt nicht diese elende Fummelei, wenn "mal eben" ein Wasserhahn ausgetauscht werden soll, gerne auch mal an schwer zugänglichen Stellen. Mit diesem massiven Werkzeug fühle ich mich gut vorbereitet!

Appena arrivata e gia provata; per serrare i manicotti dei rubinetti sotto il piano, inaccessibili con qualsiasi altro attrezzo, e' perfetta, e' nata proprio per quello. Davvero robusta, lo stelo e' in acciaio a tutto spessore e non un tubo di qualche decimo di millimetro. anche lla arte da dove si fa forza, e' ben robusta; spero solo che lo sia anche il perno in acciao che collega la testa allo stelo. Speravo fosse piu grande per poter afferrare anche il dado che regge il rubinetto stesso, e invece non basta, pazienza. Soddisfatto Soddisfatto

La primera vez que use esta herramienta fue hace unos 20 años, me la presto el de la tienda para cambiar un grifo en casa. Al principio no entendía bien como usarla pero en cuanto entendí el truco fue lo unico que me permitió acabar el trabajo. Desde entonces que la buscaba y la he encontrado por casualidad buscando otra cosa y sin pensármelo la he comprado. Es de buena calidad y hace el trabajo para el que esta diseñada
