I bought the same printer quite a long time ago and when it stopped working I had no hesitation in buying the same one again. Lovely printer, no problem printing from my laptop. Good printer, well worth the money.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed to discover upon setting this printer up that it does not come with the connection cable needed to plug it into your computer! And as it does not support a wireless connection, it is absolutely USELESS until I can find and purchase the right cable needed to make it work.I am frankly astounded that a product can be sold without the VITAL part to make it actually function. I am actually in awe of this as I expected far more from a company like Canon. It is possible that it works just fine and is deserving of more stars, but as there is no way for it to function the way it was delivered to me this product deserves ZERO STARS in my opinion. Yet another disappointing Amazon purchase. I am just about done buying anything from here anymore as there is always something off!Irony is, I cant even return it without printing a label so still need to go buy a connection cable somewhere else if I even want to attempt returning it. HOW WAS THIS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN?!(also, I never ever write amazon reviews, even when I don't like a product, so the fact that I felt the need to come and warn other future buyers is a strong statement coming from me.)NEW EDIT: Printer also does not support dual-sided printing (even though it says in the product info that it can) and I will not give me the option to choose black-and-white over color when printing a document with color photos.

I changed my router and then my old cordless printer wouldnt work any more so after many frustrating hours I gave up and I went back to this plug in Canon and of course it worked perfectly, straight out of the box, with no messing around. Bliss!

I was warned before buying this printer that I would need a USB cable to connect the printer with my computer, and that I would need a disk drive for the drivers. No problem, I had those. Unfortunately, I could not install the drivers using the disk provided. For some reason, the process kept failing, telling me that the computer was not connected to the printer, even though it was, and there was nothing wrong with my USB cable (it worked just fine with the scanner I was replacing). I spent hours over it, in tears. I could not get the driver to install.Well, I tried again today. First, I uninstalled everything. Then I found the appropriate drivers online, downloaded them, and installed them. Everything worked perfectly this time, got it up and running. It's a nice little printer for the price. But if you buy, do yourself a favour and download the drivers, do not use the disk, I reckon there was something wrong with it.Edit: I’ve been using this for a few days, and I have to say, I am very glad I managed to install this printer as I am very happy with it. The quality of the scanning is way better than the scanner I was replacing. My old scanner couldn’t cope with scanning from a book, there’d be odd little shadows all over the scan. Even a book with spiral binding where the pages laid mostly flat on the scanning surface. The scans produced by this printer are beautifully clean in comparison. The printing is very nice too. Not as nice as a laser printer, but still very clean and clear.So I suppose I do recommend this product. But do not attempt to install the drivers using the disk provided. I can’t emphasise that enough.

very easy to setup, I was printing about 2 minutes after conecrting up. downside is ink cartridges are expensive

The printer itself is brilliant quality and the actual software layout is clear and easy to use despite its slightly dated look.On the other hand, the fact that the printer doesn't come with a cable to connect it to the computer is a bit silly. Thankfully, I had one but it was a bit of a hassle and I could imagine not many people have that specific cable lying around their house. The fact that you also need a disk drive when lots of laptops these days don't even come with one is quite inconsiderate of modern technology. I understand that the printer is a more budgeted one, but there should be a software download online within easy access for the user so they can connect it to their laptop straight away.I would rate it lower than 3 myself, but considering I didn't have too many issues setting it up because I had all the hardware, I thought it was a fair rating. It still prints and scans well, and is an easy budget printer to get IF you have the right hardware!

not a bad printer for price has a good scan function does its job well the colours seem vibrant ( was great for the couple of photos i wanted to print out...you need a seperate usb b cable as one not supplied and a cd drive to install the software and drivers setup was a touch finicky but only took 15mins or so with couple of false starts ( had to reset ink cartridges a couple of times ) had forgotten how slow cd setup was but got there in the end

I bought this canon printer a couple of months ago, and I thought a usb was already suppose to come with it, but it didn’t. So I contacted them to ask if I can buy a usb to plug into my iPhone , and they told me to go to the official website and ask them instead. There’s none available for Iphones so I bought one for my tablet instead, in the duration of all of this it had past the return date, I finally received my USB just to find out that there software isn’t available for my tablet to print. Absolute rubbish and a waste of money, there’s no description of what technologies are compatible with the Canon software, neither is there anything to say about not being able to use Iphones. I suggest you save your money and buy something better, and off the official website, don’t buy off this scam. I messaged them a month ago about it 3 Times in a week, and they’ve just ignored me. If I could put 0 stars. I WOULD!
