Well, I wasn't too impressed with the ammount of fussy bits, stuck onto what should be simple shapes. Too much fussy detail, adding to the time to make and assemble.As "Heritage Toys", they're probably more suitable for sticking on a shelf.However, for a dad or grandad to make into assembly kits for a youngster, then probably more educational and rewarding for the child, to assemble, using simple tools and even to paint. Cutting out, under supervision, with a small reciprocating saw, would be extra rewarding! Just modify the work input! Too expensive for the content.

I purchased this book with the idea of making wooden toys from off cuts of timber for childrens charities.

Bought so I can make toys for my grandson. This a great little book. It isn't awash with 'ideas' and then no plans, it has a nice selection of toys you can make with the plans and timber types and sizes there for you. It's also a book that will help you develop the toys in here to your own skill level if you think they're too simple. As another reviewer said, small is good. Well worth the money.

Perfact for a beginner carpenter

Projects look fairly basic, but it is a basic toy.

I was looking for some ideas for making wooden toys for my granddaughter. The book is excellent with full-size templates which can be scanned and traced onto the piece of wood. Excellent!

good instructions clear diagrams but not quite the kind of toys i was looking forprobably better for a child working along with dad in the workshop
