This Japanese absolute work of art is 9.5" long, and is comprised of 44 layers of steel that are somehow pressed together to form a very sharp and very hard blade. In my knife research, I found that only expensive knives made of either VG-10 or AUS-10 steel can have a Rockwell hardness of 62... and the harder the knife, the better it is. It takes two months to hand craft this blade. The extra length and heft results in a knife that will go through about anything utilizing its weight, and offers the precision I mentioned above. It's the first knife I've ever had that will facilitate the scoring of an onion with ten or so equal cuts, and then make it easy to dice the onion into equal small pieces, and that's because the tip of the blade is narrow, sharp and very hard.The photos of this knife do not do it justice. It is finished with precision and beauty, with a beautiful Damascus pattern, and is very shiny, almost like it is made of chrome. It shimmers. If per chance you decide to buy this knife your $90 will be well spent, and you will now have a knife that will probably outlive you... and can be passed on as a family keepsake... and it will enhance your cooking and chefing experience every time you pick it up and use it.... or just look at it. :)

For the price that I got it, this knife incredibly good knife since it was on 90%off, but for regualr price, I would not go for this.Good blade material, aus10, but edge is not quite good as I expected.Good thing about this knife is the fact that it comes with pretty nice case with microfiber fabric in it.For under $35 I would recommend considering this knife as an option, but personally, I would not pay more than that.I would go for mercer or other real Japanese manufactured knife.

I got this for my mother, she was complaining her knives were dull. My brother was the first to use it about 10 minutes later to cut the tag off his new shirt and I was impressed with the blade. He required 13 stitches in his hand. Cuts though meat like nothing! 10/10

The knife holds an edge very well and came very sharp. It is also a very beautiful knife. I was a butcher for several years and always have my eye open for a great knife. I found one here.

This knife was purchased as a gift for my son. He liked it so much he wanted to know if there were other sizes available.

I have big hands so this is perfect size. It's always been sharp and can cut an old tomato like BUTTAAHH
