The story continues
The story continues exploring the world, the dungeon, the monsters, and the culinary aspects of everything!Art remains great and so does the humor! Every character has a good presence and part in everything - I can't pick a favorite. Even the characters that the protagonists run into breath more life into the story.--------------------Note: as you continue this story, be prepared for potential issues as the publisher(s) aren't doing the most professional job. Still this volume gets a 5/5 for me (I bought the physical book) I wonder if they sell this in stores yet.

A Delicious Second Serving
Who cooking up monsters could look so tasty. Volume 2 of Delicious in Dungeon continues the escapades of our group of adventurers. I wasn't sure if the series idea would be good for a one off or a series, but now I can safely say this is one of the best new series of the year. I can't wait to see what the next volume has in store. It's very interesting to see how it handles different classic fantasy monsters and show creative ways to cook them. All the while paying homage to it's table top RPG roots. I mean what it does with Golems this volume is very creative. And in all honesty it makes me want to experiment with cooking.Senshi and Marcille are great once again, with their often clashing viewpoints. This volume definitely shines the spotlight on them and it's entertaining to say the least. If your a fan of Pen and Paper RPGs or love cooking manga, I can't recommend the series enough.

What a feast for your eyes
Greatly entertaining. It's dungeons and dragons meets meat eater. There is a story, you just get to see the joys of dungeon cooking and techniques as well. Mimics may be on the menu.

Paperback version is better than Kindle version
For more details , check out this manga reviews on my youtube channel , daywithoutgames .First , I bought the Kindle version , and for some ridiculous reasons , the back cover page is missing .In my attached photo , you can see the last page , page 195 , of the Kindle version , it shows the front cover again instead of the back cover . Below is the Japanese cover . I paid full amount of money so why didnt I get the full volume ?Second , I want to say that this is a Dark Comedy manga , it contains scenes of humans kill monsters and monsters kill humans . So I think this manga is only suitable for readers who are 15 years old and above .List of monsters , in order of their appearances in this volumes :SPOILERS ALERT .Walking Skeleton .Ghoul / Zombie . Their rotten meat must be very tasty , lol .Wraith / Ghost / Spirit . I only heard about drinking spirits , have you ever heard about eating "spirits" ? Lol . In this volume , they even make some comparisons between spirits (alcoholic beverages) and spirits (ghosts) .Golem . Its body is 99% dirt , so how will they eat it ?Orc . Will they cross the line here , eating Orc , a type of demi-human ? I wonder if Orc meat taste like Pork meat , lol . Or will the Orcs "eat" the pretty Elf girl , like in some "special" manga and anime ?Kobold . A type of humanoid dogs .Treasure Insect . Among the insects , there is a specie called "Pearl Necklace" , lol .Living Picture . In Volume 1 , they ate Living Armors , so this time , how will they eat Living Pictures ?Mimic . In the Dungeons & Dragons game, the mimic is portrayed as being able to change its shape to disguise its body as an inanimate object, commonly a chest. In this manga , Mimic is a type of hermit crab hiding in chests .Kelpie = Kelp + Pie , even its name sounds tasty , lol . Kelpie is a type of amphibious creature , it looks like a horse with fish's tail .Some dish names are also very funny , my favorite is "Freshly Stolen Vegetables , Accompanied by Plundered Bread" , next is "Special Interfaith Holy Water" .

Slice of life in the dungeon
The food manga theme continues but with a surprising discussion of race warfare against orcs and hints at a deeper story about the dungeon's origins. A delightful light read for kids and adults.

Delicious in Dungeon, by Ryoko Kui Vol 02
If volume 01 was an appetizer what would volume 02 be? It's not the entrée. Let's call it the salad course. Why? Because we spend a lot of time harvesting vegetables off of the backs of golems. Well, the manga calls them golems, but they look like shambling mounds of sentient soil to me. I guess they're golems because they are created magically by wizards and given instructions to "protect" or "defend" like golems are.Anyway, volume 02 continues the rescue of the fallen (and, by now, somewhat digested) human mage Falin. The party seems to be taking their time to rescue her, often getting distracted by side quests involving the gathering of food and the preparation of meals. The theme of looking at the monsters in the dungeon as being more than mere monsters continues as the party starts looking at them in a more, um, scientific and reasonable nature. We also meet an orc community that teaches us that perspective is very important in life and in relationships. One thing I’d like to mention is the translation notes at the one of the stories. We’ve been watching anime and reading manga for years and we enjoy the Japanese culture. In the translation to English much the folk lore is also changed to fit with Western culture, and while that helps us Westerns enjoy the story it sucks much of the flavor of the Japanese culture out of the story. The translation notes are a nice way of them trying to put that flavor back into the story. For example, at one point Laios is chided for wanting “pie in the sky”. But that’s a Western phrase and the notes tell us that in Japan the phrase is more “rice cake in a picture”. As a linguist I know that literal translations rarely work and we need to find cultural similarities. But I am very glad that they decided to add the translation notes. Domo arigato!Y'all take care! Read every day and read for fun!

ARRIVED SEVERELY DAMAGED
Book itself is 10/10 but the state of the three books I ordered was unacceptable. Books were not properly packaged and just tossed into a large box.

Better than Vol. 1
The first volume wasn't much more than some recipes and the adventurer's aversion against the ingredients lined up in a row. This volume has much more character woven into it. The food is still all over the place, but isn't THE one thing in focus anymore. The adventurers gain a lot of character due to the screentime they get and grow much more likeable. And they finally remember, why they are on this trip in the first place!
