Pre Shave Cream, 100 ml | Refreshing and Toning, With Eucalyptus Oil and Menthol, Made in Italy

I’ve been really impressed with Proraso Pre-Shave Cream. The first thing you notice when opening the jar is the scent. The eucalyptus and menthol combination is incredibly fresh and clean without being overpowering. It has that classic barbershop feel – invigorating and cooling, which really helps wake up your skin before shaving. The cream itself is very easy to apply. A small amount goes a long way, and it spreads smoothly across damp skin. The texture is soft and slightly thick, which makes it simple to massage into the beard area. Once applied, it forms a light protective layer that softens the hair and prepares the skin really well for the razor. I also really like the packaging design. The green jar has a timeless, traditional look and feels sturdy and well made. The wide opening makes it easy to scoop out just the right amount of product, and the screw lid seals securely so it’s great for everyday use. In terms of performance, the coverage is excellent. It spreads evenly across the skin and provides a noticeable smoothness before shaving. The cooling menthol sensation feels refreshing and helps reduce irritation, leaving the skin feeling clean and toned afterwards. Overall, this is a fantastic pre-shave cream with a wonderful scent, easy application, and classic Italian design. It’s a great addition to any shaving routine.

Having been DE shaving for a few months now, I've been looking around for a post-shave moisturiser. Something that wouldn't leave a greasy residue, but that would leave my skin feeling softer after shaving and help to alleviate any razor burn. I hadn't used Proraso products before but the number of highly positive reviews had always caught my eye and although this product is sold as a pre- and post-shave cream, I bought it solely as a post-shave product as I personally don't see the need for anything pre-shave, other than plenty of hot water and a good shaving soap or cream. After shaving, I always use an alum block - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DPMMX96/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse off and apply the Proraso Pre- and Post-Shave Cream. The first thing that strikes you is the very strong menthol (Eucalyptus) smell. It's certainly not unpleasant, but it is very strong. However, as the cream dries into the skin, so the smell recedes until you are left with a very faint menthol fragrance, which is fresh and leaves the skin feeling very clean. The cream is not at all greasy, but if you apply it in the morning after shaving you will still be aware of it in the evening. It forms a 'barrier' which you can feel when you run your hand over your face. It's not visible, but leaves the skin feeling soft and very smooth. I'm a fairly careful DE shaver and tend to take my time at the sink, but even so, I still suffer razor burn at times - even using the alum block. However, I can honestly say that since starting with the Proraso Shave Cream, I have not experienced razor burn of any kind. That cannot be coincidence - the cream clearly does a great job of moisturising, but also cooling, the skin. The other thing to say, is that you only need a very small amount after a shave, so while the 100ml pot may look a little expensive, rest assured this will last you ages. I wanted a post-shave cream that would moisturise and cool the skin, eliminate razor burn, not leave a greasy residue, smell fresh and protect my skin over the course of the day. In Proraso Pre- and Post-Shave Cream, I've found exactly that - and I absolutely wouldn't be without it.

Having recently returned to double edge razor shaving I was looking for shaving products to compliment the joy of DE shaving. I’ve tried numerous products over the years including from London based barbers but I have to say since I’ve been using the Proraso range I’m hooked. I’m currently using Proraso pre shave cream, followed by shaving soap and completed by aftershave balm. All the products effuse quality and style (as perhaps Italians do so well). A smooth shave with no nicks or cuts (as DE razors have a tendency to do), the razor glides smoothly over the skin and the balm provides instant cooling and hydration. The pre shave cream has a strong(ish) menthol smell which does make the eyes water a little but combined with the shaving soap brushed on with a quality badger hair brush the skin is left very well prepared for a close shave. The joys of DE razor shaving combined with the Proraso range makes the whole experience enjoyable and for anyone looking for quality shaving products that don’t break the bank and leave you feeling clean and fresh post shave then don’t look any further than the Proraso range- definitely recommended. This is an honest review and I have purchased all the products myself.

I've found that this cream is particularly effective as an aftershave, whereas pre-shave it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Great astringent properties, leaving freshly shaved skin very smooth. The scent is extremely strong - reminds me of Vick vapour rub!

This is perfect companion to the menthol shaving cream, face never felt so fresh.

A small, heavy, glass jar filled to the top with a pre-shave creme. I'm used to using Nuage Men shaving oil but that just gets the hand that I hold my razor with all slippy. So reverted to this and now I'm a convert. The menthol smell is the first thing that gets me, my eyes too but I like it. Give the cheeks and chin, neck and sides a good massage with it, there's no lather but I just put a shaving soap on top and it works a treat. I feel like I get a really good, close shave and I quite enjoy shaving once more, whereas before it was just a chore, now though, despite the dancing girls failing to come out high kicking when the razor touches my skin, I get a little bit of pleasure knowing that my Mrs is going to be happy with my appearance rather than the dishevelled person she's used to seeing.

Very refreshing smooth shave, use it for after having a shave as well for cool calming effect. Nice smelling as well. Will definitely be using this cream from now on. Well worth the money. Looks like it will last a long lot of shaves as well. Highly recommended.

Great product. Gets a bit of getting use to and remembering to use it as part of my routine, but I don’t think I could go back to not using it

Niet twijfelen en meteen 2 kopen. Voor het scheren even insmeren, intrekken en inzepen. Je zult het verschil voelen. Ik gebruik het sinds kort ook direct na het scheren, voor de aftershave. Je gezicht voelt aan als de noordpool. ijskoud, maar wel lekker.

I can see why some get addicted to this product. This pre-shave packs a hefty hit of menthol that makes the eyes water and clears the sinus. It really helps with raising stubble and adds even more comfort to the shave. I'm smitten with it at first use (it was delivered a couple of hours ago) If you like menthol in your shaving routine, get some of this, it's heaven. I paired it with the Proraso Eucalyptus and menthol shave cream and the equivalent aftershave, I'm one very happy convert to this new addition to my routine.

It’s very refreshing and good for Pre share, you can feel the difference .
