One Direction are one of the worlds biggest groups, and this DVD is a great way to get an insight into the group and what they are all about.Whether you like X-Factor or not the fact that is managed to produce a group like One Direction that has taken the world by storm says something, this DVD follows them in a nice down to earth way.It features lots of clips of the boys together with some of there best songs, its about telling their story, in their words. You have interviews and chats with all the boys but in an informal way, its the story of their early career without being a story, it just flows and tells you about them in a way that makes lots of sense.It shows you pre and post x-factor, together with what it is like to put on a tour, the hard work, shows you how its not all about fun and games, but to be honest, they love it and you can see why.The film is apparently non scripted, and cameras just followed the boys around, watching the movie I can believe that is true, it doesn't follow the normal concept of a film about a group, it just seems very natural and very fun. You can see the strain of doing concerts but you can also see how they support each other through the more difficult times and the fun times.Scenes shown in trailers include footage of fans telling stories related to the band following a request posted on YouTube, as well as a comment from Simon Cowell, who was their mentor on The X Factor and is also a producer of the film as well as Morgan Spurlock.This DVD includes a lot of additional extras not including in the original cinema release, so if you have seen this at the cinema you will see more songs and more insight in this than you did watching it at the cinema. Although Zayn has now departed them, when watching this film you will see that they all seemed happy working and singing together and no evidence of the right that currently exists between the boys and Zayn.Whether you love One Direction or not, this movie is a great way to get a personal insight into such a well known group. Maybe it might even change your impressions if you are 1D haters. A lot of the film is dedicated to the boys and their antics, after all they are all young its to be expected. That just gives them a little charm that you often don't see just from a music video. Well not true, most of their early videos are just all about fun, although later are more professional.

This was for my daughter who enjoyed it

Took my daughter and a few friends to see this film (in Italy), I expected that I would enjoy it as well and I was glad they left the film in English and added Italian subtitles. From the first minute until the end, I have to admit I got entirely caught up in the excitement and music. The film took off like a jet and it was a truly FUN ride the whole way. As a mom, it was touching to see how the boys' parents were dealing with their instant success and how the boys were dealing with all the sudden fame and leaving home to start their new careers together. I really enjoyed that they integrated concert performances of their most popular songs throughout the film and especially enjoyed seeing a more personal side of each of the boys. They are a group of funny, charming, young men who I hope continue on the same path as they move forward. Don't hesitate on this one... it makes for a GREAT movie night at home... break out the popcorn and enjoy!!! (p.s. consider the source when reading any negative comments. If you are a fan of the group, or the parent of a fan, it's pure JOY, truly).

Very happy with purchase

I'd like to start by saying I do NOT rate this as 5 stars. My daughter does. That is who it was purchased for.She absolutely loves it and anything to do with One Direction, particularly Louis Tomlinson.I have watched it. I have listened to it. Time and time again. So much so that I have lost the will to live.I loathe this product. I wish I'd never bought it. That sounds horrid because I would not wish to rob my daughter of the joy this bunch of individuals have brought her. However, I have developed more headaches than one could ever contemplate being bearable. I break out into a cold sweat at the mere mention of One Direction (1D).I have heard all about Directioners (the 1D fan base). I know everything and anything there is to know about 1D. I am beginning to think this is a plot to force me into early retirement so that I form a middle-aged fan group of Older Directioners. Or, perhaps such a group of individuals already exists? I can't imagine they'd live more than 6 months if they do.They work very hard. They rarely get time off. They can even sing a little (sorry to any 1D fans or "Directioners"). But....why do I have to listen to this all the time! Headphones aren't good enough, apparently. I could start wearing ear defenders 24/7. That might help and my wife seems to think I never hear a word she says anyway, so perhaps I'll have a good excuse for doing so.If Louis Tomlinson ever reads this, I have a message for him - you have ruined my peace and quiet. I hope you're happy.
