Will these lure mice away from property to be killed outside?

If placed around where the mice are getting into your property then yes they may go to this, but mice do like to go somewhere enclosed to die, like inside your house. I had mice coming in under my kitchen cupboards a few years ago I placed 2 of these boxes under them and within 2 days I never saw a mouse again, much more effective than traps in my own experience, and I kept replacing the boxes every 10 to 12 months until I moved.

Can you confirm if there's a knack to opening them to be able to remove any that die inside

Surely at £4 a pop and with the scent of mouse-death clinging to the device and making other mice more hesitant, it'd be easiest to just throw the trap away if it has a dead mouse inside it?

I know this sounds silly but my cats keep bringing mice in and I hate rodents. Is it safe if I leave them where my cats are so mice runs into it?

Sometimes mice die in the trap having eaten the poison. I am not sure how safe it would be if your cats 'played with' a poisoned mouse that has left the trap before dying.

Does the bait emit toxic fumes which could harm/kill small caged birds such as budgies or canaries housed in the same room?

I had have not noticed any smell or fumes.
