Great conditioner for my hair, and colour too
Born a redhead, a redistribution of my hair colour genes while pregnant mean I've gone boring brown, so I henna myself back to red.You mix it with lemon juice till it has the consistency of stiff mash, and leave it overnight, cover the brown with cling film. Get a shower cap and some good strong Marigolds - the ones with extra long wrists are best. Paste it onto dry hair, don't wash it first unless it's covered in mousse/silicone/gel gunk. I don't use any of that and the lemon deals with any grease on there. Once it's covered, pile hair onto top of head, cover with the cling film from the bowl, then the shower cap, then a towel you don't care about wrapped round - keep it warm, and it must stay wet to work. Then read a book or watch TV for three hours. Wash out wearing the gloves and till the water runs clear. Then shampoo and style as normal.I have one of those capes with a window in the front to keep the stuff off my clothes but always wear a black top anyway. Everything after goes in the wash, 40 Deg, and comes off. On clothes you value, wash immediately.Dark hair will get a lovely red shine especially in sunshine, blonde will go orange. I've not had a hair cut for five years and have no split ends, - the henna moisturises and protects hair, it also relaxes curls quite a bit. If you get body art quality henna you can use it over supermarket dye. There are no metal salts in it. This brand is solid.

Good quality colour / henna !
I’ve used henna for 28 years on my hair and this stuff is good quality with a great colour.Thing is with natural henna, it’s a dried leaf so you need to allow time for ‘dye release’ to happen first or else you’re just slopping leaf powder on your hair which will make no difference to its colour or condition. Some things help dye release: warmth, time and acidic ingredients.I use natural / live yogurt and lemon juice. Hot water. If I used 150g powder, I’d add about two tablespoons yoghurt, two tablespoons lemon juice, hot water to a glossy paste that isn’t going to be too runny when it’s on your head. You can always add more liquid before you apply.Leave it in a glass dish, covered (not metal) if it’s somewhere warm this speeds things up, this time mine was in a cold kitchen for a few daysTest it after about 4-6 hours by putting a dab on your inside wrist, leave for a few minutes, wipe off. If there’s an orange stain you’re good to go.There does come a peak dye release stage and then the colour will slowly degrade so you can refrigerate or freeze for later useWash your hair with shampoo. No conditioner (you want the cuticles open). Apply to head, wrap in cling film, leave for a few hours. If you’ve got peak dye release it doesn’t have to be on for long at allRinse rinse rinse with cool water. Condition it and rinse again.First colour is more coppery then it does oxidise and redden over a few days.Very good for hair and scalp

Much better than I expected - I thought it would be rubbish but for the price was willing to take a chance - even though it's so cheap it's a lot better quality than some of the henna's I've tried. I've only ever used henna for hairdye, so I am comparing with other cheap henna rather than anything body art quality. I found this to be really smooth and not gritty at all, it was much easier to apply to my hair and rinse out than some that I've tried. I mixed a cup of it with warm water, a spoonful of coffee, and some essential oils for scent and to make it stick better, and left it for 2 hours before washing out. Any large pack of open henna I would recommend keeping in a ziplock bag so that you don't stain every single thing in your life orange.

COURSE PRODUCT
I have used henna for many years and have always bought from a store, this product arrived in a plastic bag which had obviously been filled by the seller, it was a light brown colour and not the usual vibrant green which I use. I re-read the reviews and gave it a try. I always mix the henna with a little hot water to make a paste and cover with cling film and leave for 48 hours in an airing cupboard. Once applied I leave on for 3 hours and then with a good hair conditioner I remove the product from the hair. This henna did NOT take as well as my usual henna and the worst part it was very SANDY and not the fine henna I usually buy. I do not recommend this product.

Unbelievable for the price!
Don't be fooled by the low price for this much product. I have been using henna on and off for over 30 years and at times have paid a small fortune but I can honestly say this is some of the best I have ever purchased. I have long, almost waist length hair but still only needed approx. 150g to get good coverage. Mixed with a little lime juice and warm water to make a smooth paste, left to stand for a couple of hours before applying to hair for 4 hours. The colour is the most gorgeous true henna red, exactly what I always hope for but often don't get. I have a few greys but this covered them completely. I henna my hair every 4-6 weeks but I have had more compliments about the colour this time than I can ever remember. Will be buying from here from now on.

Not the best but good enough and so cheap.
I’m not sure how I feel about this henna. On the one hand it does the job - dyes hair a nice permanent red tone and there is sooooo much of it. I have shoulder length hair and have dyed it about 4 times and still have lots left. On the other, I don’t know if this henna is of as good quality as some of the others that I have purchased in the past. I don’t feel like my hair is as bright as other times and as well as that I think the bag has been weighted down with sand, after washing it out there tends to be a lot of sand in my shower, which bothers the drains. If you take this into account I’m not sure how good the value actually is.If you have the money I would advise ordering a more expensive alternative, there are great ones on amazon and not all that expensive when bought individually. But if you don’t have as much money (e.g. I bought this when I was a student) then I think go for this as it’s not terrible.
