SUPERB ALL ROUND!
I searched for almost an hour on here for something to secure my bike, and was about to give up when I fell on to this product. It only had 4 reviews, but they were all 5 stars, so I had a look; thank you those people who write reviews! I bought it based on what other bikers had said and, I have to admit, it is bloody brilliant! I can't fault this bit of kit. The WHOLE THING is made of steel (be VERY wary of others: the body is probably aluminium and only the pin made of steel...) and it weighs a ton! VERY solid. The whole thing screams quality. The alarm is dead easy to set: simply depress the barrel to push the pin through the hole on the brake disc; there's a beep to let you know it's armed. Done! As I wound the reminder round my front brake lever, I must have jiggled the lock as it beeped a warning. The moment I let go of the cable, it stopped. If the alarm goes off, simply put one of the 3 (3! How cool is that?) keys in to the lock and turn. It was also pretty windy when I left my bike, and was concerned about sensitivity; it seems fine.If your bike is your life, then don't muck about with ANYTHING that gets a bad review; go for this. It's excellent. You even get a free carry pouch, a spare battery (battery is already installed), an allen key (to install new battery when the time comes) and a quality reminder cable (steel wrapped in plastic). Glad I kept looking and found this! For the first time, I really feel that my bike is safe; that lock doesn't look as if it could even be removed with explosives. Opportunists will definitely take one look and run for it - especially when the 110db alarm goes off!Chuffed to bits : )

Just what the doctor ordered and excellent after sales service
I have a disc lock and it is good. But an alarmed disc lock... that would be even better. I had read about how many of those available on the market are annoyingly over-sensitive and can go off if a butterfly flaps its wings within a hundred yards. So, having read other's reviews of this one I took the plunge. It's loud. Very loud. But it is also not overly sensitive, which will please the neighbours. If you try to wheel the bike with this attached you'll first be warned by 3 sharp beeps. Do it again and you'll hear 10 seconds of full-on alarm. However, I have yet to experience any problems where the alarm is tripped in wind and/or rain. This may be because it is also quite heavy and sits tight on my front disc.As an aside, the volume of the alarm can be quietened - should you desire - with a little bit of strategically placed electricians tape covering a couple of the alarm holes. Just a thought. No disc lock - or even alarmed disc lock - will dissuade serious thieves. But local joy riders (and their ram-raiding cousins) may be inclined to give your bike a pass once this thing starts screaming at them. Anyway, thus far it is conducting itself very politely and I would therefore recommend.Edit: 20th March 2018.After 6 weeks outside in rain, snow and freezing temperatures, the alarm stopped working. I tried the spare battery pack, but that just resulted in a constant buzzing sound when locked. So, I contacted the seller and they immediately responded saying that they'd send me some spare batteries. But instead they sent me a whole new pack. Not just the batteries, but a new locking alarm as well. All I needed were the spare batteries, which I slid out of the packaging and put in my lock and it worked perfectly. I had intended returning the remainder of the pack, but the seller told me to keep it. I didn't know what to say. Anyway, in my mind this constitutes an amazing and unexpected level of service provided by the seller - Great Ambition.

Loud but sensitive.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Very loud alarm, fits nice and snug and seems pretty sturdy.Only downside is that it's extremely sensitive. Got to be lightning quick lifting the cover over the wheel to disarm it before it alarms, even a light touch of the cover sets it off. Not great for those early mornings waking all your neighbours up. Same with even a slight wind, the warning beeps are constantly alarming. Good to know it definitely works but wouldn't leave it on if you're not in the house or nearby to disarm it!

Great deterant at a low cost
Great for the costAlarm is sensitive and loadHave another 2 locks i.e. D lock and litelock without alarm sound for high security but this lock is for a deterant and kids who may deside to mess!!!Beeps three times to warn then raises attention with 30 second loud blasts repeated if small movements don’t stopThe crossbar bag to store it in is also goodUpdate a year later; The strap on the crossbar bag undid itself and I’ve lost my lock :(So ordered another as this is my favourite of 3 locks l use :) :) , especially when leaving for a few minutes e.g. to buy things in a store or coffee in a cafe, let’s me know if my bike is touched. Only takes seconds to set and removeWill add a tie back to strap this time as always leave bag on bike

A good solid lock with decent alarm.
This is my first disc lock purchase so I can't compare to anything else. That said, this lock feels very solidly built - very heavy and good quality. It is simple to use - place lock, push lock pin - alarm beeps to say its locked, 5 seconds later it is armed. If you move it accidentally you get 3 beeps as a warning, move it again and the alarm goes off. Its a fairly loud shrill, certainly enough to make a would-be thief jump. It runs off 6 LR44 button batteries, easy enough to buy but you get 6 spare batteries as well. Also comes with a tiny allen key to change the batteries and a storage pouch. You also get a reminder cable - attach it to you handlebars BEFORE you lock the alarm to your disc otherwise you may set the alarm off (as I have done) accidentally. All-in-all so far so good :) very happy with it.
