Works for sensitive skin but beware of smell
Purchased 21st December 2021. Been using it since 22nd December 2021, it’s now 13th March 2022 as of posting this review. Roughly 82days or 2months 20days.EDIT: now as of 6th May 2022, I’m still using the same bar! 136days! I’ve ordered a second but it seems like this bar will take me till the end of May. I’d say good value. One thing no one ever mentions with Aleppo soap is exactly what it smells of! I've read accounts of it being 'distinctive and earthy' and 'exactly like laurel' which begs the imagination if you have never even seen the fabled tree before, let alone smelled it!Its Plasticine. It smells of Plasticine! No if's, no but's. Maybe Plasticine uses laurel oil in its manufacturing but either way this is a large and unwieldy chunk of soap that smells of oil clay.Use wise, I've stupidly sensitive skin which normally reacts to me just breathing wrong. With this soap? absolutely no itching. My skin likes it, no contact dermatitis yet so that’s a win. When I first started using it, I felt a tad greasy but now I can't tell a difference. My eczema is no better and no worse but also not itching which is the most important part. Only more time will tell if the rest of my marks heal with it but since it’s not getting any worse, I'm happy to keep using it.Good advice is to rinse off the bar 2-3times before you start using it. That gets rid of the most pungent part of the smell. It doesn't make you smell of it either after that coating is washed off thankfully.Something to note is you might want to chop this soap up into smaller chucks or you are going to be using it with two hands haha! You can cut it into 3 more comfortable chunks.I’ve tried using this in my hair too with mixed results. My hair is still not used to it, I’ve since switched back to regular shampoo. Yes, it helped my eczema on my head calm down from itchy fiery mess, but it also didn’t reduce it. I decided to just switch back because I was a greasy mess hair wise. It looked clean; it didn’t look greasy but it felt it so that was a turn off for me. One positive was that I didn’t need to detangle it which was a win!Given more time I’m sure I could get my hair used to it but for now it’s a nope.Lather-wise its harder to get one on skin. On hair it lathers up nicely so if suds are what you want? Used a scrubby thing!Overall:-Good soap, skin likes it so I will buy it again.-Tad pricey (I paid £13.45 for 200g vs the £2 for the regular bar soap equivalent). I get it, it's fancy soap but its still ouch haha!-Smells of Plasticine but its tolerable after you rinse the coating off the bar. It won't make you smell of it.-Cut your bar up so it’s easier to hold.-Might take a while for your hair to get used to it but it works.-Harder to lather but possible.-Would recommend for those with sensitive skin

Exceptional, but expensive
Used as hand soap and shower wash leaves the skin moisturised and clean with a fresh fragrance. These are completely organic and have no Sodium Laureth Sulphate or whatever else chemicals which are bad for you. Very expensive but so is anything hand made and good for you. Lasts for a very long time. Will seek a cheaper alternative in future. Down to 4 stars just for the price.

Best for healthy hair growth and scalp hygiene.
This is an amazing soap equal if not better to the best tea tree soaps. It contains laurel oil (40%) which support healthy hair growth and healthy scalp hygiene. I use it instead of shampoo and my hair is as strong and vivid as ever before. A bit pricey but worth every penny.

Best Soap Ever
This is the best soap ever. It has solved all of my skin issues. The smell is inoffensive in the shower and nonexistent out of the shower. My skin is no longer dry, my acne is gone and I think my pores are smaller. I love this soap and will purchase again. Shipping was quick and the soap arrived in excellent condition.

Nice soap but the price
Not sure why I paid over £12 for this when I’ve just noticed there’s an identical offer at just over £7 - it’s expensive for what you get. It states it’s 200g in the advertisement but I note the package weight is 181g though I did weight the soap block as 200g even though it showed signs of having loss some bulk judging by the concave sides. The soap itself has a mild scent which does not linger long on the skin but it’s one big advantage is that with our hard water is does feel ‘soft’ to use no doubt due to the oil content which also leaves the skin feeling soft.

Lovely soap, but…
I’ve been using this soap for awhile snow and love it. However, the last two bars purchased have had grit running through the whole bars, which makes use quite unpleasant at times.

Fantastic soup
I love this soup. I use it to remove makeup as its great for problem skin. It feels sticky on the skin in the shower which means it's a fantastic soup for a Moroccan hammam. Use an exfoliating mitt and it helps make the skin the perfect texture and ready for the scrub to remove unwanted dead skin.It worked amazing. Better than other black soups I've tried.

Not the product advertised
I’ve ordered this 23 times. And 22 times I’ve been delighted. But this most recent time the packaging was quite different and did not state the proportion of laurel. The soap itself clearly came off a different production line as can be seen by comparing my photograph with the vendor’s. This is an unacceptable substitution.
