How would you wash this?

I have one of these and it can be had washed or machine washed but I would put it on a cool wash 30c and without softener because of it being sort of elasticated. Hope this helps. But it does come with tags and instructions on how to wash. By the way they are good and warm

How tight does this fit around the neck if wearing it at nose level? Tight as a turtle neck for example?

It is tight, i pulled it over my mouth and around my ears under my helmet, so the neck area wasnt as tight as a polo neck, but it is tight enough and does the job.
