Good quality and fast scaning.
The Doxie pro is doing exactly what i need it to. Setup was easy and scanning is fairly quick as long as your paper is in good condition. But even for paper thats in bad condition, receipts or other items the single item feed mode works great but obviously not as quick because you have to do them one at a time.Image quality and readability of all documents was good and i didn’t even choose the highest settings. It also auto cropped and straightened all the documents. The size and weight are good for a scanner that can scan 20 normal documents at a time. When its folded up it’s fairly compact.Id say the value is priced a bit high at full price. But I got this used(like new) for $150 and I would say thats a good price for this scanner.

High Quality Hardware, Good Software
My initial impressions are very good. The hardware seems to be well designed. Case is plastic, but structurally the scanner seems rigid and not flimsy.I have scanned a couple of documents, one was a 10 page doc with some wrinkled pages. No issues, one page had a fold in it but it was not at the feed entrance so no probelm. The scanner is fast even at 300 dpi which seems to provide ample resolution, however it can go to 600 dpi.The second doc was a very glossy map that I had kicking areound my office for a couple of years. The pages wren't wrinkled but the surface was not really flat either. The result was the white areas were a little blotchy. This was easily fixed by setting the contrast boost button to Medium (software button), boosting the contrast slider to 18 and reducing the Gamma to 1.51. This is easily done in the software GUI. You don't have to rescan the document to adjust software settings. You can make changes and see the results in real time. Also before you do anything with the Contrast and Gamma hit the Auto Adjust button to automatically take any slight rotation out of the document. Also when you save the documents you can select jpg, png, pdfs and OCR'ed PDFs.Another cool thing is that the Doxie is a US based company, although my Doxie Pro hardware is made in Taiwan. They immediately send you an email asking about your satisfaction and offering help if you need it.So in summary, nice hardware combined with good and flexible software. It supports Windows and Mac.I do wish they had a Linux option as I am drifting away from Windows.

All the features we wanted with a small footprint
We have limited desk space but needed a scanner to operate our "paperless" office. So I reviewed all the scanners available on Amazon and found Doxie. I have never heard of the brand but with great reviews I did a deep dive. It had all the key features:- Multi-page document feeder- photo or thick original alternate feed- automatic single-pass front-back scanning but ignores blank pages- simple intuitive app where multiple scans can be converted into multiple formats all at onceBased upon checking the boxes I went for it. On arrival I was pleasantly surprised:- setup was sooooo simple and a great quick start aided in the process- footprint was even smaller than I envisioned. Our desk space is still open for work- after hundreds of scans, it still hasn't pulled through two pages at once and unlike the other feeders I have used, the pages pull through straight so no crooked scans- clarity of the scans is excellent- file sizes are less than expected even with high resolution - less space used in our cloud accountI tend to be VERY critical as I have run technology companies in the past and have a product development background. This product has truly exceeded my expectations.

Crushed Expectations!
My prior experience with scanners had been with those included in all-in-one machines. The comparison between that scanner and the DoxiePro would be the same as a 2 year old's water color vs. a Van Gogh painting.I was set up in under 5 minutes - plug and play. The software is great, intuitive. LOVE the 20 page capacity auto feeder that automatically scans BOTH sides of the paper FAST! Also has a great direct feed slot for pictures, business cards, etc. What's awesome about this is that when you scan a picture, it scans only the picture, NOT like on a flatbed where is scans the 8x11" field, and you then have to go in a crop the crap out of it. And the auto adjust features are spot on.Also, you don't have to scan and save each file/photo one at a time. If you have 50 things to scan, you can scan them all, and they will be held on the Doxie software until you go in there and decide to organize them by saving them into their final destination - which can be a harddrive, cloud, etc.I was tired of looking at the same box of over 1,000 pictures for 11 years after a relative passed and left them to me. It took me a few hours because you do have do the photos one at a time, but I banged them all out and am now clutter free. This scanner is awesome. I did suggest to their CEO (yes, the CEO) when he called me for feedback, that it would be nice if the Pro version had an SD card slot, but he brought up a good point, that the the quality may be not be as good by default. So if having to be hooked up to a computer is the worst thing about this, I am fine with that.BUY THIS!

Just the scanner I needed
This little scanner is exactly what I was looking for. I set up a paperless-ngx server so that I could get rid of the giant stacks of paperwork in my office, and I needed a scanner to make that happen. The Doxie was very easy to set up, takes up next to no space when I'm not using it, and fits seamlessly into the paperless-ngx workflow.Double sided scanning makes crunching through a stack of paper fast and efficient. You do have to take care with the sheet feeder to prevent jamming, but no more so than with any other sheet feeder. The software is easy to use, and the "staple" feature makes it trivial to combine multiple scans into a single PDF.I considered a wireless model, but for my use case a USB cable was worth it to get the double sided scans, and it takes up very little space on my desk while in use.
