Valve Software Wireless Steam Controller

Awesome controller that can be a bit fiddly to set up and sort out. But for people who like to mess around with configs it's great! Don't want to go back to an Xbox controller any more! I also don't use my mouse and keyboard much anymore. Sofa gaming! Woo!

Now I am getting the hang of it a good controller, takes a lot of getting used to however. I have only tried it with a few games, I think once I'm used to it's intricacies, and the sensitivity of the trackpad (which replaces the right thumb stick) I will be singing it's praises even more. Everything is responsive. The 4 little buttons are quite small however.

I am presently surprised at how well designed this next gen controller is. If you are on the fence about buying the Steam Controller like I was, I recommend you take the plunge and give it a go.The learning curve is there, but it's no nowhere near as bad as I had come to expect from reading about it online. The software is daunting, but community profiles are helping me to get started. It may not be the best solution for every game you play, but I think this controller is worth owning.

Ok, so i really wanted this controller for my PC. I have an xbox 360 controller but obviously it doesn't work with all games. The short of it is neither does this. It does work but its not practical. What its brilliant for is RTS, guild wars 2 is what i always wanted to play but count be assed to used mouse and keyboard. Once you configure the perfect button setup its like your playing with a controller and that the game was designed for one. On the flip side, with practically any other type of game its nigh on terrible, Especially FPS or third person, even fifa. Im not going get into the detail of how to set it up, its pretty simple. Just to say you will need both controllers to essentially allow you to use all games on PC.

This controller is good, but it doesn't come with a long USB wire with itself, so that's a miss. It takes getting a little used-to because of buttons on the back that act as 'Y'. Touch controllers have been mostly useless for me but I haven't played many games with this controller. The left touch controller probably needs some more work done because I found it quite difficult to use to navigate menus.

It's different to any controller I've ever used before, but once I got used to it, it became the best controller I've ever used by far. Xbox 360/One controllers feel awful to use in comparison now.
