Q: Can it be modified for piping through the floor?

I did cut around our waterlines that come through the floor. I used silicone caulk but it doesn't appear as though it sticks very well to the mat. This mat is still a good choice and I would highly recommend it.

Q: Can you mount slide out baskets over the mat?

Yes just keep in mind that the mat side walls are one inch high install them at first and if you have to drill through the mat into the cabinet be sure to put a bead of silicone around the screw

Q: my sink dimensions are 34.5 wide x22.5 deep and has a center support post will this mat fit?

It should fit. The dimension includes the raised portion of the mat, which can easily be bent for corners. You might have to cut a hole through it for the central post, which is doable, but it won't be as pretty. Overall, this is a really good mat. Sturdy, looks good.

Q: Does the contour of the mat surface make it difficult to place spray bottles etc. without them falling over?

Not at all! There are grooves but they're not deep. Bottles stand up on it perfectly. This mat is outstanding and I wish I had found it sooner.
