You get what you pay for. I am using this product in my work shop in my heated detached garage. I have a WiFi extender relaying signals to the router in my house. Frequently the camera drops offline and the command/reply signals are delayed quite a bit. While using the WiFi extender is not the idea situation for this camera it does an OK job.I have two completely internet service providers at my house. Using the same ISP as the camera can produce some pretty serious lag times so I use the phone on one provider while the camera is on another.This camera does not have a zoom.Daytime images are color while dark images are illuminated with its built-in LED and the resulting image is in black and white.There is a microphone which I have no use for.This camera will accept a storage media for capturing still images. Images can also be saved to your smart phone.If it were not for the signal dropping out I would rate this item higher but for the Amazon special it's very hard to beat and a nice first camera to try.

The instructions were REALLY hard to follow initially since whomever wrote it has terrible English.Here's how I did it:1- download a scanner app to your phone2- scan the proper QR code (the square thing on the instructions)- mine was the one on the right3- follow the instructions on your phone app:a. plug in the camerab. once you hear the pairing beep push the button on your app confirming this beep was heardc. my unit's yellow light never started flashing so that was a bad sign but I pushed the confirm button anyway and moved to the next stepkeep going, it's pretty was pretty easy after that.I was actually excited once it started working but there is a delay in the transmission and I was at home, with my wifi, sitting right next to the camera with my phone in hand. Imagine the delay outside of my home.I had to return it since the tilt-down function did not work AT ALL on the camera, which was sad. I could move the lens all the way to the ceiling and all the way around horizontally but the not down so once it was looking at the ceiling that's all it could see. Again, sad.So I paid $39.97 on a flash deal but somehow it's only showing $27.98 for the refund which confuses me since I bought it Jan. 14 and received it Jan. 21 and returned it Jan. 26. I delivered yesterday to an Amazon locker. Definitely within the 30 days.I hope to get a full refund. Update ya'll on that in a week or so.Honestly I would have gone for an exchange but did not see that as an option so again, sadness.

2 Stars at best. Instructions are very vague, and quality is terrible. While sitting right next to the router, it is always loading. And when it does come through it is super grainy and jumps around. Audio is only 1 way as we can't get the microphone function to work. Total crap. Save your money and buy elsewhere. The all 5 star reviews were clearly posted there by the owner as this product is truly terrible. Instructions are vague and make no sense and doesn't offer any instructions on how to operate. Would be nice to know how to use the microphone, as ours currently appears broken.

Incredibly awful instructions are provided. No mention of the app to use. Putting a QR code to get the app is ridiculous. Not everyone wants a QR reader on their phone or tablet. In the product pictures, one shows an app called VSAHOME. Downloaded it, and it does not recognize the camera. Read reviews and saw mention of Joylite app(found on Apple's App Store). That worked with this camera.Now, as for the quality of the camera. The camera is compact sized, looks kinda cute, for a camera. The power light, or activity light, whatever they want to call it, never lit up. So, obviously there is no quality control, since others have complained about malfunctioning units.After finally getting it linked to the app, there is incredible lag. the bit transfer rate is very low. Picture quality is surprisingly good. Motion and activity is slow motion lag. Controlling the pan/tilt has substantial lag. Setting it on 360P, which should ease the burden on the camera does virtually nothing in terms of lag.Got this on a lightning sale, for under $30. Was it worth it? Nah. Perhaps worth $10, $15 tops.Would I recommend this to anyone? If you can get it cheap, maybe. You can only 'bind' it to one mobile device. So, controlling the pan/tilt, or audio is limited to one device. Only that ONE device can control the camera. You can set up a 'friend' view, which allows another device to view the camera, but cannot control it.The camera seems tied to the wifi network, tried to connect to it off the network, with no success.I finally got it working, not sure degree of utility/usefulness, but I will not go through trouble of returning it.I will keep it connected, if it stops working within the return window, I will return it.So, my assessment. Think very carefully before purchasing this specific item. Then don't buy it.

This security camera is truly amazing. I was very skeptical at fort so only bought one. I literally hooked this up about 10 minutes before going on vacation and several hundred miles away I am able to check in and see the part of the house that this camera is setup in. I had good time rotating the camera from one direction to the next, up and down and so on. I am ordering a couple more as these are primarily for my hallways on three separate floors. Nice product!!!

The only reason I gave it 4, instead of 5, stars is the set up. It was hard to understand where I was supposed to insert the pin. The yellow light also never came on as it said it was supposed to. Ones I got it setup, through, I loved it!! The app is easy to use and I love that we can watch our animals and check on the house when we're gone. Rotes near silently so you only know it's there if you know to look for it. So far, so good and well worth the money and more. Setup aside, it exceeds my expectations for the price.
