Viofo V2 Replacement kit for A119 & A119S Models (Package Includes V2 Replacement Chip, Updated GPS Mount, 2X EVA Foam & Repair Screwdriver)

I've installed the kit because of an auto restart problem on rough roads with my V1. It was very easy to do the upgrade to the camera. I'm only giving it 4 stars because of the lack of instructions.The most difficult part was removing the V1 GPS mount from my windshield. Use a string or dental floss to cut the adhesive. Clean the mounting point with an alcohol wipe to remove any residue from the old adhesive. I didn't see any reason to use the supplied shim pads as the camera and GPS mount fit very securely. I have driven several rough roads with no restarts and apparent vibration in the captured image. Dashcamtalk.com has a video instruction for installing this kit

Take Care!This kit has fixed the intermittent connection to the power supply fed from the GPS module of the original, The new GPS module completely replaces the old one and the new back plate and connector PCB connector plate 'chip' are not to difficult to fit, if you know how. The worst part is that there were no instructions included. I searched the internet and found a very good blog describing the steps. But even that did not prepare me for the camera lens and 'clicker'retaining device to jump out of the unit when the shells were separated. If you have never done anything like this before then hand the kit to someone with some electronic device servicing experience to install. It should take about 15 minutes to complete the task if all goes well.In conclusion it has done the job, but is marked down for difficulty.

The change itself was fairly straight forward but the GPS mount seem to be faulty. At the first connection some pins bent out the wrong direction. I had to order a separate GPS mount.

I've been struggling with my v1 GPS mount and the camera constantly losing power and corrupting video files. I thought I had a bad microSD, so I swapped it out and thought it got better only to see it failing again. I even contacted Viofo and they sent me some of the foam pads, I tried that along with some of the high heat tape to stop the rattling and while that made it better, it didn't stop the issue completely.I saw when Viofo released the A119S v2 and wished I had waited to purchase the camera. Shortly thereafter, I saw some posts on DCT about a V1 to V2 kit from the UK. Eventually I found this one available in the US and picked it up. It's been running great for me so far with no issues or restarts.The upgrade took all of 5 - 10 minutes to complete. The hardest part was re-inserting the ribbon cable into the connector on the new power chip.The long piece of black tape appears to be the same high heat resistant tape material I got from BC Hobbyist before. If there is any rattling between the GPS mount and the camera, take a look at BC Hobbyist's youtube video "VIOFO A119/S Dashcam - GPS Module Modification" on how to cut and attach the tape.

Worthless! No instructions at all. Too delicate for average user to install. Destroyed my camera trying to install this upgrade and now need new dash cam. Shouldn’t have messed with it!

Great kit to upgrade my Viofo A119. No more camera shudder/shaking and start/stop of recording. Very easy to modify the camera. Hardest part was getting the connector to seat properly.

Don't waste your time with repair. Save the money and buy another dashcam. The enclosed repair chip that binds the power cable to the replacement back cover does not bind the existing ribbon power cable sufficiently. the chip cable connector is a different appearance to the original that works correctly. If you want to repair your defective design GPS to camera mount, a more successful option would be to use the layers of tape approach described in YouTube videos on the subjectI love the A199S camera and its a GREAT dashcam ( 5 STARS rating) compared to almost all the others but the manufacturer should just make a replacement V2 camera and send it to users who are stuck with the first version lose mount design problem

Upgraded my A119S v1 to A119S v2 with this kit. Shipped super fast! Got the swap done in all of 5 minutes. The mount for my A119S is now ROCK SOLID and I no longer receive power losses while driving over potholes when my cam used to rock/move. Easy to figure out, although i could not figure out what the long adhesive strip was for.
