Saucy, Sexy, Hot Hot Hot! Be prepared to get your knickers in a twist with this one!
This books starts out introducing you to the characters of Mistress Primrose and Spencer Edelton, as they are off to spend two weeks in an arrangement set up at her place of "employment", the Red Chrysanthemum. Mistress Primrose believes this to be along the lines of her past arrangments, however Spencer has something quite different in mind, wanting instead to deliver a "set down" to the woman who has humiliated his younger brother Nicholas, making him do unspeakable things under the guise of her title of Mistress, taking money and his dignity along with it. Spencer intends to make her regret the day she ever met his brother, not understanding or even asking why she would do such a thing to a member of the Gentry. Mistress Primrose has her own reasons for having made Sir Nicholas and his cousin, William Edelton, perform such atrocities, as they both carelessly raped her sister, who then died giving birth to the child that was concieved from that rape. Spencer turns the tables on Mistress Primrose, using the tools and toys in her chest of BDSM implements on her instead of allowing her to control the arraingment, however they both soon come to the conclusion that this only arouses them both to heights they never dreamed would be possible. As the book goes along, the sexual encounters get more in-depth and erotic, simply making you able to picture it in your mind clearer. If you like erotic historical romance with a bit of BDSM thrown in for good measure, you are going to simply LOVE this book! Easy to follow, clear details that make it easy to form the pictures in your head, very detail oriented, just simply a wonderful, wonderful book! Every time I read another Em Brown book, I am captured from start to finish! Can't wait for the next one!

Good Read
The storyline was good, the lead male & female characters were strong but the read was long. I read it in the set version so at each beginning of the next chapters it repeated the storyline. So very repetitive sections that made the read longer & drawn out. The sex scenes were detailed & explicit so be warned that it gets intense at times. For as long as the book was the ending/conclusion was fast and not detailed. I enjoyed reading it & like Em Brien as an author. Will read more of her.

Oh Wow!
Is it weird that this book, full of BDSM elements would turn out to be one of my most favorite love stories?! I enjoyed the passion of these two very flawed but fleshed out protagonists. I enjoyed reading of their struggles and then their ultimate triumph found in each other. It's one of those reads where you're absolutely sad you can't peep more into their lives to see what they're doing now. I've read this book over and over again just to re-enter their world. My favorite part is the unconventional heroine. She's not trying to save her reputation, she doesn't give a damn about it, even in appearance she's unconventional from all the other heroines I've read up until this point. Like how our protagonists utterly ruined each other from finding love in any others save themselves, this book has ruined any other romance novels for me b/ca all of them will be lackluster in comparison until I start wanting something less...hardcore. ;) I'll definitely be exploring more of Em Brown's works. She's earned a loyal fan.

An enjoyable read.
I thought these books were well written with a good plot line. Sometimes the erotica side was a little overused but all in all a good easy read. Historically pretty good - I had to go to my dictionary a couple of times - but the setting was accurate for the period. Would I read any more by this author? Yes I would!

Scintillating
It was sex, sex & more sex. The book was a very scintillating read, i read it in two days. Some of the descriptions of the sex toys were baffling but if you live the S & M life or the submissive, dominant life you'd be familiar with them. It was definitely educational as well as well written.

Super steamy and over the top
The two main characters literally torture each other. But the sex is good so all is forgiven. I have mixed feelings about this one. It’s steamy (guilty pleasure steamy) but some parts veered into abuse and made me uncomfortable. Also, as much as I enjoy a steamy read, and for as many chapters as this book has, the story itself could have gotten a little more space. It’s almost as though the author doesn’t quite have much to say when the characters have their clothes on. That culminates at the end with a very hasty finale that was a bit anticlimactic. Once they stopped f*#@ing the author lost interest and just wrapped it up.

Pretty good but choppy
I understand this book was released piecemeal over time so that’s why it’s repetitive and choppy. I wish the author would revise the complete work into a single book! Remove the “reader reminders” and add new scenes or dialogue or transitions!! This book is good enough to do all of that! Crazy thing, though, even with the reader reminders (you are prepped in advance as to why they occur), this book repeats FAR LESS than many “novels” i’ve read!! They are only “novel” length because they rehash each chapter or situation to remind the reader of all that’s happened prior every time something new occurs in the book! Uggh. This book only briefly mentions previous situations and isn’t too annoying or jarring. Makes me want to research adult toys of the 1800s!! Linen condoms? Ouch!

Em Outdid herself with this one
BEFORE I GO ON..... PEOPLE THIS IS AN EROTIC BDSM BOOK...... IF YOU'RE NOT INTO THAT......... DON'T BUY IT!!NO NEED TO POST "RUBBISH" POSTS.Em Got the feeling of being a switch just so. There's a lot of complexity in a BDSM Relationship and she got both parts right for the Miss Primrose. The wanting to be in charge and the wanting to be submissive, it all fits so well with a life some of us choose to live.*Well except we don't live in England at the turn of the century* LOL.Spencer brings out the switch personality as well BUT not so much, he prefers domination, thinking he's getting revenge. BUT Revenge can lead to all kinds of things you never knew you felt!
