Part of a good trauma kit. Start here and build.
Here's the deal. And remember, I'm not a medical professional, although I have bled quite a bit over the years. You can buy the Israeli bandage for about $9 each, or buy ten of these for about $32. Yeah, these don't have the pressure bar, etc. However, watching training vids for hours I learn the following: (1) Apply tourniquet, (2) pack wound (with clotting gauze, or compressed gauze, or whatever is handy), (3) apply bandage. So, if you already put on a CAT, RAT or SWAT, and packed the wound, the personal bandage seems almost as effective as pressure-bar bandage. My current trauma plan is: for arms and legs: tourniquet, combat (clotting) gauze, bandage; for torso - combat gauze pack, bandage; for head - combat gauze dressing, bandage.I also have the Israeli bandages with the pressure bar, and those are slated for non-arterial serious wounds that may not justify the risks associated with a tourniquet.

it is NOT the standard Israeli COMPRESSION bandage, but just a block of gauze.
OK, probably my fault for not reading their disclaimer that this is NOT the real Israeli bandage with the pressure bar. This is more like just a wad of gauze. Another review showed it unwrapped like a roll of gauze; mine wouldn't even do that. It looks like it is just meant to be a block of gauze you slap on top of the wound and wrap with a separate bandage.Besides that, the packaging was next to impossible to open. You cannot tear it yourself, but need a knife or scissors.I was hoping to get an inexpensive Israeli compression bandage to practice with (have some real ones for my kit I didn't want to open). Guess I'll have to try again, but based on this one, I don't think I'll be ordering from this same manufacturer/supplier.

Great bandage to have around in case of emergency
Great bandage to have around in case of emergency. I keep one in my cargo pocket at work just in case. I also have a few more on stand by.
